The purchase of assets will also not be immediate, it takes time to evaluate. Another reason why I do not see a placing happening soon. Soon does not mean never. Just not in the very near future.

A short seller effectively closes a short by buying back the “borrowed” shares he has sold - hopefully for him, he has bought them back at a lower price than he’s sold them, or he’s made no profits.

I believe they will probably need to raise more cash at some point, yes. Not in the "very near future" though.
