I'll try and keep this simple as it's obviously gone above your head. Shareprice is the result of SHORT terms sentiment, ie expectation, which is notoriously fickle.

I don't know how deep you are in but you won't find any comfort in desperately trying to find a forumla that proves you're being cheated. And ranting at me because I've given a pretty innocuous and civil reply to another poster won't help you either.

Now, try and be more civil in future. There's good chap.

@Scrodingerscat I took the OP to be talking short medium term rather than long.

I'd agree your rationale of "This was this price when this was this so if it's less now it must be due to shorters" if calculating a shareprice was simple, transparent mathematics that was applicable consistently over long periods.

It's not. It's result of short term sentiment. Oil has dropped over the last 3 months and Tullow has never looked like keeping it's head above 40p

@Selllowbuyhigh (in my opinion) the rise was due to rollover of debt being secured. Nothing more. Until there's more news specifically about the company then the driver is oil. Oil is driven significantly by the dollar which is driven significantly by US interest rates. The chances of US rates being cut at the next Fed session are lowering (due to persistent inflation), hence the Dollar stays high, oil stays low and there's no reason to suppose Tullow's prospects improve hence the Share Price drifts down.

If the next RNS were going to contain something exciting I'd expect the SP to stiffen a bit by now.

@osg Yep it's just a matter of deciding what you can cope with in terms of margin of error.

US probably won't cut rates hence Oil will reamin under pressure pending any OPEC intervention. I reckon 32p is a sensible target to buy in now.

I doubt we'll see anything significantly over 40p consistently for 3 months, pending anything exciting from the ongoing African issues.

Quick look at the charts this morning over coffee. US Gov Bonds continuing a steady rise and Dollar going that way too, albeit with a few shakes.

That, I think will restrict Oil and hence TLW. I'm still waiting for a sub 34 buy in.

@Power I agree with your sentiment. I don't expect anything tragic, just nothing to make me think the share has any right to push over 40p and stay there.

The big news was the debt being refinanced on good terms. Thats made me think sub 34p is a good buy in. Until we get more good news I don't see it going higher that 40 consistently.

The rise seems OTT to me and I expect a reverse in short order. Dollar and US Bonds continuing to rise.

@JMAX Dollar Index Futures have strengthened significantly in the last few days. Tend to be inverse to oil.

@onsolidground Dollar is strengthening which may restrict medium term ceiling for oil.

Update on the WedgeFund. bought 34.10p sold 36.50. Profit £700 Taken £175 for a few bottles of Champers (£25 down to £12.50 with Morrissons Clubcard)
