If I was to run just by instinct, I would think there will be an encouraging RNS out early next week...the sp (which could have run any day this week...on large institution trades but has been kept on a very short leash)after the close of business in Moscow this afternoon...was allowed to creep to the psychological barrier of 1200 at the close.

I will check the posts back but briefly (1) they have not really expoited it; (2) their appointed CEO has left to go back to Barraick; (3) they announced they want to concentrate on large operations (3) the Russian analysts say they have looking for a buyer
it is about the take over price...when/if it happens...the majority shareholder company wants to exit and the Russians want to buy it...

Polymetal might be preparing to acquire a major gold asset in Russia, Interfax reports, citing a precious metals market source. Additionally, Albert Avetikov, Polymetal's corporate relations director, indicated recently that Highland Gold Mining (HGM) is a good-quality asset, so we believe HGM could be a potential target. HGM shares were up 6.5% to $2.23 following the news.

I assume the rise today of 6.8% reflects the view that a buyer maybe found soon...
