Looks like the Balearic Islands are going back to amber in the next week or so. Sentiment will take another knock.

Charles, they are on my radar but not confident enough to part with my cash. They may look cheap but that should not be the reason to invest. In a Europe that has seem a poor uptake of the vaccine countries will bring in restrictions that may convince many to holiday at home.

JPM and GS seem to think so. They have increased their investment.

JET" seems to have had the 'bigger kicking' in comparison to TUI. Not sure if the recent Director Trade knocked investor confidence. Looking over at TUI JPM and GS have increased their investment over there so maybe a sign that they think things have 'bottomed out' in this sector.

Noticed the sp firming up yesterday as the trading session moved into the afternoon. Maybe a bit too early to say the recent downward trend has reversed but most of the last few trading days we have finished higher. Like to see another nibble at 240 and hope this time it can break through.
Lots of uncertainty out there. Even good companies are seeing a reduction of their MC. Travel companies or travel related companies will come under lots of pressure if restrictions tighten outside of the UK. TSCO look a strong alternative for a defensive investment.

Brave if it’s for a quick trade. Only need one of the travel destinations to shut up shop if they get overwhelmed with the D variant.
Longer term a profit is nailed on at this price.

The director sale is already in the price as it was executed on Thursday. A mere drop in the ocean for Meeson so nothing really to read into it other than maybe a family member wanting a house in Malibu

The sp keeps fluctuating but the ask is relatively unchanged. Are they trying to dampen any appetite to buy? Not helped by the usual high spread.

I cannot see a return to pre Covid prices any time soon. There are more shares in issue. Not negative on the current valuation of the company but the fundamentals have changed significantly.

Judging by your posts then I would guess you prefer Eccles Old Road to Eccles New Road :)

I saw 2 trades yesterday afternoon executed one after the other. Both very big. Maybe the reason for the drop despite the positive news.
The director sale doesn’t really help the sp when confidence in the sector is needed.
Anyway, history now.

Bought Asda shares back in the 80s. Held onto them for a number of years. Sold when they started to climb out of their trading range at a decent profit only to find out the following week that Walmart had placed a bid. Gutted as the potential profit would have covered my mortgage.

You wouldn’t think a 10% rise from this level is too much to expect. Booker sales should start to gain a bit of momentum now as restrictions are eased, not forgetting grocery sales as a result of the football.
My DRIP shares were bought at 225 so from a personal perspective all good.
Which poster a couple of weeks ago predicted that the sp would ‘top out’ at that price?
Whether we like it or not we are mere bystanders. You certainly cannot go up against the institutions and their algo trades.

I stopped trading a few years after retirement. If I was you I would take a leaf out of my book and invest in a company such as TSCO. Not much scope for expansion but certainly less stress and a yield of over 4%.

Closed on the day’s high. Bided well for opening tomorrow. Just need a bit of upward momentum which has been lacking for quite a while.

MRW is currently more than a third of TSCO MC. Not forgetting Booker, does that represent fair value? Perhaps the market is getting a gentle reminder of the assets that the company has.
Interesting to see what direction the so takes this summer .
Lots of nay sayers here but I can see many positives, even if it’s just the yield.

Getting a ‘lift’ from MRW. Regardless of any possible bidding war for the company it certainly makes TSCO look great value at this level.
Maybe more institutional money coming this way so hopefully a new trading range will develop.
