Phoenix (now named Lesedi) has been turned around in 3 months. Now efficient, supply sorted out with production rising. Also they have got rid of the 3rd party management company. Production there is now on the up and profitable. SLP business model is obviously working.
Many PGM producers have been bought out or closed due to the PGM prices and the politics yet SLP keep delivering. The business has actually grown during this period.
Personally, I have a little cushion here now and will review my position as the politics are played out so not concerned. In fact my recent investments are all on a free ride as I top-slice elsewhere. What I will say is investors in S.A. should be aware of the trading environment and know the risks. You could argue that 'safe investments' in the UK are a little risky now with talk of nationalisation by the Labour party of the railways, utilities. 'You pays your money.......
