RE: RT Boom Bust24 Apr 2020 15:57
You know Rusty I've now watched half a dozen family folk die of cancer and it wasn't pretty, its harrowing as there is no hope of recovery but the patient is kept on drips and drugs and the whole process is prolonged, care homes are like that where a loved one has parkinsons, alzheimers ,huntington's chorea and many many other awful conditions. As little as 100 years ago nearly all would have died much sooner but now through science and because we can we keep our loved ones alive and barely existing, we wouldn't do that to our pet. Add on the fact that the average life expectancy in the 1930's was 55 now its around 80. So when a disease like corona virus hits on top of the flu it has rich pickings in terms of mortality. We see the the main cull of covid19 is in care and nursing homes and many older folk in the community are kept alive on medication. I'm 67 and have been on blood pressure medication for years. Also the figure looked bad in the Med countries because place like Italy the birth rate has plummeted and people smoke far m ore heavily in the countries as fags are duty free. I would suggest that covid 19 in many cases has just sped up the inevitable.and once its on the downturn the mortality rate among at risk groups will fall. Im not saying its not bad it is but we need perspective we still live better than any other time in human history and if POG goes up to a quid I'm going private health care next time........................only joking
Oh I will say something very controversial now. The media et al all virtue signal saying how each life is important yet every year in England and Wales around 90k abortions take place and the attitude to that , especially from the left , is that its a wonderful thing, yet that same left will march to save the polar bear and foxes
