My conclusion is that the old JV offtake was simple and normally would be announced straight after that type of RNS.
High lithium demand and price means more options.
Good but bewildering.
Bernie has to do what is best for the shareholders, which may not have been what he envisaged.
After other contracts earlier this year, agreed prior to rising lithium prices, I think the market is expecting us to get ripped off. I don't.

I would love you to be correct.
But normally explorer to miners achieve 25 to 50 times multiples.

Could be paper.. or he may have used the successful auction bidding system, value low and start a bidding war, usually gains a higher price.
They are going to be interesting updates.
If they put a trading halt on shares before some news some sellers are going to be out in the cold.

The conservative pricing in my opinion, using Bernard's other company example was a bit to conservative - just my opinion.
Whatever happens I think it will be good.
If anything it appears with the value of lithium being so high and demand so strong, we have so many potential options we do not know which way it will go.
Normally one of two ways JV and offtake, or offtake with sweeteners.
We appear to have more options.
However that equals more competition for our lithium, which is good.

But the RNS states that some major mining companies are interested.
I have never seen a major become involved and let the explorer do the mining.

Maybe these are surprise offerings and so big that they cannot be overlooked also he said companies in the RNS so there must be more than one.
If it is a deal like in gold mining, it is a buyout with an ongoing royalty of annual payments based on tonnage.
I agree most of our risk has gone with that option.
Good thing about Bernie is he has experience of different types of mining so will not be stuck in his ways with only a JV or standard offtake.

The question marks after this are not negative either, but there is uncertainty, the market hates uncertainty.
As you are well aware normal process is a JV and offtake agreement.
With the huge prices having to be paid for a JV, there are other options such as interest free loans to develop the mine and offtakes with a penalty paid per tonne for any lithium not purchased under the offtake agreement. There could be more options that I am not aware of.
However Bernie is mentioning a large mining company, when they get involved with gold explorers it is normally a big cheque and a payment per tonne. But they do the mining not the explorer.
We have to sit and wait for the updates he mentioned in his interview.

They do have what they call upstream and downstream interest.
When I think miners Riotinto type companies spring to mind.

Richie, I am with them, when the asset value and NPV say it is worth multiples of our market cap, you would expect it to have settled higher.

These large mining companies in the mix are something different, that is normally gold, maybe some of the gold type deals are moving to lithium mining due to the high price?

Of course we all know that shares rarely reflect their underlying asset value, this one is a good example!
That mining company has me intrigued. We could end up with a buyout and so much per tonne without lifting a finger.
Surely he would not include it in the RNS if they were not looking more closely at the offer?

Splatted with a market cap of 40m and an asset value in the 100s of millions you would think so.
Makes you wonder what many AIM investors base their decisions on, not asset values or NPV it appears.
