Finally - a decent up day. Big holding for me so fingers and toes crossed for a very positive update at end of the month (I think that's when it's due). With reports of very healthy new car sales plus strong white goods sales from the likes of AO, I'm hopeful.

You might be right - my only concern is that there are now a few dealerships out there all in competition for big "juicy" acquisitions - Lookers, Cambria, Vertu etc. More competition leads to higher prices?? Having said that, Lookers management has shown themselves more than good at the game in the past.

Who thought it would be under 80p just one month ago? Definitely not me anyway.

Bear in mind that I really don't know what I'm talking about - but if this drops and closes down again tomorrow, I can see it going all the way down to 60p and then 40p. Maybe then it will be time to look again - but I won't be rushing back in. I got burned last time and there are better prospects out there. I didn't see a whole load of Thorntons product in my local Tesco at Christmas and Easter is still some way off.

I like your guess better than mine. My current car is serviced at Lookers in Eastbourne. Very nice people there and service department (which is where they make most of their profit anyway) is always busy.

I'd probably agree if it was just the wharehouse problem which they say is now resolved - but for me the more worrying part of the announcement was: "We have recently experienced a significant reduction in previously indicated orders from the major grocers who also took in stock later than anticipated" Safer to wait and see what they report on Jan 19 before thinking about dipping my toe back in the water.

Yes - I'm sorry but looking to move a bit more into cash anyway so today's announcement was enough for me to press the SELL button. Have a feeling there will be further disappointing announcements to come before things get better here. But good luck to those hanging on - or buying afresh.

Yes - have some of those too. Not sure oil price situation is going to be that helpful to Nigeria but BRFI focused on many other markets which, again, the smaller investor can't get access to.

Yes - me. I agree, India looking good. Have a tracker ETF and this one for exposure to people who know and can buy individual stocks much better than I can.

Phew.... this one of my largest holdings so very happy today.

Mostly purchases today but SP down another 1P and has been drifting for a while. Update tomorrow so I guess all will be revealed then.
