Storm. Assuming that it was the same item you ended up buying in about the same condition I would be very interested to know how the price compared across the various sites you visited. That information might help allay my (and others) fears regarding SGI's stock asset valuation.

Banksman, as you say, I am well into negative territory but not really confident at the moment to buy more at these much lower prices. They may not "own" most of the items auctioned but there are two sides to their business (or am I wrong) in that they now carry out auctions (where, as you say, they take a commission on stock that they sell on behalf of others) but don't they also "own" a very substantial stock of stamps, coins, etc. that they hold on their balance sheet at prices that they themselves set. Those are the assets that I am beginning to worry about.

How is this share price going to go up if the company keeps on issuing more shares at below the BID price. I, for one, will definitely be attending next AGM and voting against issue of more shares.

I've been in here for a LONG time - originally as a result of reading ST tip in IC. I'm wonderding if the assets values are really all that reliable. As far as I can make out the assets are valued by Stanley Gibbons but are they really the correct values - how many people are purchasing stamps at the values SGI set??

Investors Chronicle take on interims: Improved margins in car sales and after-sales care have helped car dealership chain Lookers(LOOK) drive a 6 per cent rise in pre-tax profits to £40m for the first half. Chief executive Andy Bruce said this was now the seventh consecutive year of improved profitability and "another record result". Early rise tomorrow! I actually meant that I will be getting up early to check results - but hopefully share price will also experience same.

Will see what they actually report next week but will probably look to reduce holding down to what for me is a more normal level should it jump over 140p. Will then operate a fairly tight stop for the rest. Bit concerned that market has got ahead of itself and can't believe we are not in for a fairly big correction before too long. Would like to be holding a lot more cash when that occurs.
