"Vladimir Putin agrees “in principle” to the UN and the International Committee for the Red Cross on evacuating civilians from a steel plant in the besieged city of Mariupol, Reuters is reporting. The steel plant, Azovstal, is where the last Ukrainian forces who were defending Mariupol are hunkered down. The discussions about the involvement of the two entities were held in a meeting between Putin and UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres in Moscow on Tuesday."

Definitely something strange going on with the share price. Was tempted today but in the end decided to hold off. Will set a couple of alerts for lower prices and decide if they get triggered.

Seems strong this afternoon and its not really reflecting any gains yet from yesterdays excellent RNS and Investor call.

I'll probably go for Guterres maybe having success at negotiating safe corridors out of the Mariupol steelworks but Erdogan being the one that will get them back to the table.

Berenbergs 300p target is based on attributing no value to the Russian assets and imho undervalues the Khazak assets.

Two problems with that.

1. Yesterdays RNS reiterates FY production guidance, thats from the Russian and Khazak assets.

2. Just prior to this conflict and based in part on that same production guidance Berenberg and many others had 1400p and 1500p price targets. You can see them in the POLY Broker Ratings Tab above.

I don't see any change in Institutional shareholdings MiningMan so maybe things are just specific to you. Likewise you will probably find all FXPO's mine workers at all 3 of the mining concerns got up, put their Hi Ho's on and off to work they go. The same risks have been there since the start of the war hence the share price but then on the converse side FXPO, being Ukranian and not Russian, escapes the sanctions. One persons sell will be another's buying opportunity.

The oil price looks like it is turning upwards again which will be good for the 25% odd unhedged and the extra 5000 bopd unhedged that has just been acquired courtesy of the Ghana pre-emption.

That one is going to transpire to be one of the best bargains of all time for TLW as it ups our production guidance figures by circa 5k barrels per day and should easily pay for itself in a year. Should be bringing in an extra $500k per day at the moment against $118M shelled out on completion.

Easiwynns these are what are called sabre rattling or bluster with threats and pseudo threats and intimidatory tactics attached daily to the rhetoric from the Russian side. It's all they know "heightened state of readiness" "gawd help anybody who interferes with our special operation" "baltics no longer nuclear free", "that'll make our enemies think twice", "aim is to push down to Transnistria" In fact it is almost every day one appears. Everybody knows though that with the nuclear option you get the same back and more. Then add some if it is NATO. That's why it is called mutually assured self destruction. It's Self-defeating.

More importantly though Lavrov does see an accord being signed. Just a shame that there will be pointless loss of life and life changing injuries and so much damage and destruction in between for both sides.

The Oil price is still comfortably over $100 dollars per barrel (Brent) and there is still a war going on in Ukraine and Opec are not increasing production, so the price of Oil will remain high.

BP has been marginally up all morning so I'd say somebody making their own luck but then in so doing it's there for everyone at the same price.
