Given that air borders are effectively closed already in any case it should make little or no difference. I read only last week that Gatwick had only circa 20 flights per day in and out of the airport as opposed to what was previously over 600 daily. Thyat might lessen still.

The public and the press can quite clearly see that infection rates are noticeably falling and death rates look to have peaked also and they are rightfully starting to question judgements now being taken.

All whilst at the same time Ministers are spending money on numerous companies for Vaccine passports.

If the reasoning behind all of this is to stem the tide of supposed influencers or celebrities posting self publicising pictures of themselves on social media or in the press from destinations likes Dubai. The UAE, St Barts or Paris (e.g Vogue Williams, Duncan Bannatyne, Kate Moss) then I doubt very much that it will deter them.

Far better simply to get UK Border Force or the Police to proactively investigate any potential breaches and to fine them accordingly with say a £10,000 pr £20,000 fine also. It has to deter.

It's just a pet annoyance of mines with the Daily Mail printing their photographs daily and much to the annoyance of the ordinary person.

westwood747. Yesterdays figures are actually those vaccinated on Friday. Saturdays numbers are just out and showing about another 360,000 which for a weekend is good. Death rates reported are also significantly down. The peak daily rate was 1410. Only 610 reported for yesterday.

I reckon by the end of Wednesdays stats (reported on Thursday) that we will not be far off having vaccinated 1/2 of the top 4 cohorts.

Vaccinations are now well on course to vaccinate the first 4 high risk groups by February 15th, and what will be the next Lockdown review date. Nearly half a million people were vaccinated on Friday which was reported yesterday for what is third successive higher high. It will only ramp up further as we move from 20 Mass Testing Centres to 50 by the end of this month.

Third day of record breaking with nearly half a million were 1st vaccinated in one day yesterday. That is Outstanding.

If it keeps up at this rate then we should be halfway to vaccinating the 15 million in the first 4 cohorts by the middle of next week.

BY vaccinating all those in the Top 4 highest "At Risk" Cohorts by the 15th February, that accounts for 88% of the present death rate. Mass Testing Centres assist the vaccine rollout and the last update was at 20 in total but set to grow to 50 by the end of January. More are opening by the day. Immunise those key individuals and take a substantial number of those out of the death figures, once the vaccine has had time to work, then the word "Unlock" becomes the next consideration. Next Lockdown review date is 15th Feb.

Then by the end of March everybody over 50 and those with medical conditions that put them at higher risk, should also been vaccinated. That accounts for 99% of present mortality.

Next reopening imho, backed by effective vaccination should be permanent.

Just a reminder that the Government Vaccine Delivery Plan is aiming to vaccinate all those in the Top 4 highest "At Risk" Cohorts by the 15th February. They intention is to have 50 Mass Testing Centres open by the end of January. More are opening by the day. Oh I think we have the reason.

The workforce shouldn't be shrinking any with vaccines rolling out and working and travel corridors back on to Spain. Sadly its not one of the reasons Shares magazine mentioned.

You should always be aware of those articles that say "could" or "might" or other indefinite terminology.

Its a shame the market is closed or I'd have bought more for a complete reversal of todays fall.
