It's interesting giving the positivity of vaccines and the recent success of the vaccination rollout to try and fathom out why the share price is so low.

It is quite clear that HMSO have more than enough money to keep them going and any next news is likely to be an "unlock" and return to all shops open and in whatever format that is. The big major difference this time round should be, that backed by the vaccine, the next reopening is permanent.

HMSo wont be going to the wall anytime soon so it will be interesting to see at what point positions start to close. Either that or does the regular revisits to 22p signify somebody either already doing that or taking a "long" position instead.

I just find it really curious whilst patiently waiting for an "Unlock".

They will have taken the prime parts without the overheads.

They must have been factoring this in when the decision was made on building the new fulfilment centre.

It would be nice to see glitzy advertisements but they do cost money and I have to say it didn't stop me going online on the Card Factory website yesterday to personalise and order what I wanted for Valentines day and to ensure it arrives in good time.

By comparison and including postage we offer value and from what I could see we were cheaper than Funky Pigeon and with Moonpig I found our personalised cards with postage for instance are cheaper than what are standard cards on Moonpig.

I'd much prefer myself to keep getting the vaccines rolled out and to see our shops reopened, and with vaccines further supporting things for that next opening to be permanent.

At least I have done my bit in raising online sales and in an ethical way by Staying at Home.

From the time Reddit and wallstreetbets got interested in Gamestop it took about 3 to 4 weeks for the momentum behind the shares to build and you have to factor in Hedge Funds initially trying to defend and cement their position their positions further with more short position selling to try and frustrate any rises and you will also have had traders who took profits.

The movement though seemed accepting of these factors along the way and never gave in or sold any shares thereby ultimately frustrating the short positions and setting the clock ticking for the short squeeze that seemed to then happen. Then in came the reinforcements and up she popped. Micheal Burry and his Scion Capital who made billions from the collapse of the sub prime housing market and is the subject of the Big Short actually supported the movement as did the likes of Elon Musk and some politicians.

In my look at things at the weekend I thought the first stage in the movement that I could see was simply in not selling, to deprive HF's the chance to get teh shares they seek.

It has probably changed the investment landscape for many years to come for instead of Hedge Funds just merely piling more and more into short positions to further depress a share price and guarantee a return, they are now up against a massive counter offensive that can appear at any time and has done on several stocks. It strength of the "campaign" and its sustained nature sand the volume of individuals and weight of money that have piled in is what has surprised many and that is where social media has excelled. The ensuing short squeezes have left many HF's with deep losses and with them having to re-evaluate their risk strategies.

I have even read that they are now paying for social media analysis to "invest" with the crowd and to identify what is trending. As if that never happened already with their downside bets. Was it ever any coincidence that one of the pre-requisites used to be a very lively bulletin board with which they knew they would provoke a reaction and people will constantly fill the bulletin board with "short positions this" and short positions that" and do their work for them.

The timing, what with the success of vaccines and now their swift rollout and effect will probably combine further and unless there are noticeable large movements like with Gamestop then you will never be able to attribute things to either.

Above all else is my belief that in all of this it is the Hedge Funds themselves that over time have created the prevailing atmosphere and investor sentiment by manipulating and over manipulating share prices and shafting so many PI's in pursuit of their profit.

It's a changing landscape whereby social media and actually a well worked out thesis by some involved that has garnished massive support and that has shown that those mushrooms that previously have been in the dark and fed manure actually have caught sight of the daylight.

Onlyonewhufc with nearly 600,000 vaccines administered in a single day, and not only that but it being on a Saturday and on a weekend day when traditionally the numbers are usually much lower, I think even the sceptics will now be starting to come round to the 15 Million jabs being administered by the 15th February and the next review date. 32 Mass testing Centres opening just last Monday is undoubtedly helping.

Death rates by comparison have been volatile and wildly fluctuating at times but they now seem also to trending well down on the 1820 peak, Being that they are a direct consequence of having been infected they should follow the same noticeably declining Infection rate curve.

If the vaccine effect then kicks in on top of lockdown effects with a fast reducing mortality then the even the more sceptical will start to believe in the science of taking 88% and 99% of the highest risk out of any statistics by vaccinating.

Then if that is the case you just know that at these Downing Street Briefings, and in the wider news media at large that the pressure for "Unlock" and "Reopening" at an earlier stage will become relentless and too intense to resist. Businesses are failing through all these closures and many are having to raise more and more money. Airports are deserted, Non-essential shops are closed, Hotels are operating on skeleton business, Pubs and restaurants are closed etc, etc.

Hopefully we do get firmly into the 80's and sustaining that would be great,

Just to make mention of a noteworthy "movement" that has developed in the USA over the last few weeks involving Reddit and wallstreetbets on social media and whereby a "community" of retail PI's have target shares that have a high amount of short positions and buy, buy, buy. Gamestop is one such company but they have also targeted AMC Entertainment, Blackberry, Nokia and others. It is all over the newspapers, tv channels and social media.

All the stories in the press last week and this weekend seem to be focussing on key indivduals and PI's all galvanising together and continually buying those specific shares, and as importantly - not selling.

In consequence the share price rises and in a completely converse way to what those with short positions wish. The consequential rise and relentless further buying seems to then induce a short squeeze whereby those with short positions have to buy back the stock or close their positions or they suffer massive losses.

It is rumoured that some Hedge Funds have suffered multiple billion dollar losses, Melvyn Capital one such rumoured, and some have required cash injections.

It would also seem that it is causing many hedge funds to review and unwind some of their short positions fearing that the contagion of the movement might spread to many others.

Given what has gone on with NETW over the last year, with short positions in the background, I don't think anyone would be surprised if it started to spread and appear on NETW.

Personally I would much prefer for it to get back to previous levels off its own back and on fundamentals alone but I wouldn't be complaining if NETW does gain some interest. The shares are stickily held with Mastercard as a Major Investor and the Capital Group of Companies have also been increasing their holding and now hold over 15%.

Successful vaccines and their rollout I suspect will get it there in any case.

Over the next two weeks and as we close in on the 15th Feb next review date for "Unlock", if the numbers keep falling and rapidly so as vaccine effects kick in I just think that such will be the pressure from the media and the business world that they will Unlock and probably the same times as schools go back.

3. Questioned about British Airline contracts for the Virobloc products that are being used at the the Verbier Hotel. Would confirm the hotel contract as it is public but on the airline contracts he could not confirm right now.

I think everybody knows this share price has been and is being sat upon and has been for months, especially when you have the likes of gym groups, pub groups, entertainment shares and airlines and other retailers all having made strong recoveries in their share prices. Some 50% plus from their sp's about Jan 2020 and just as news started to emerge out of Wuhan Just look at the 1 year graphs of the likes of WH Smith, Frasers Group, Superdry. Gym Group.

Large short positions is not a pre-requisite and in the UK you have to notify the FCA if you have a short position of 0.5% or more. That doesn't stop you and any of your associate companies holding multiple 0.49% positions.

If any of the shares I own or intend to invest in get hit with a wallstreetbets or Reddit type wave then I will not be complaining. Neither I suspect will any others who bought in early.

Talking of which today's released numbers were really good again, particularly on increasing 1st Vaccinations again and in the Death rate falling. 487,756 vaccinations yesterday for the 2nd highest daily total to date.
