cekim there was a report in the Daily Mail a few weekends back with an interview with and ICU consultant and he put it that 90% of those in hospital had not had the vaccine. Many of them staunch refuseniks and tragically several of whom died and it detailed how before being placed in an induced coma several of them had commented that they wished now that they had had the vaccine. Any surprise that yesterday they were also trying to urge the 5 Mill that have elected not to have the jab - to get it. These are all debates that go round in circles on here.

Deal with things when they happen as opposed to all the speculation. We close then we can get back to something like the 123p we were during the last closure, whilst working up the US listing.

The bit you missed out in your commentary is that they have also just sanctioned the 3rd vaccine "Booster jabs" roll out for all over 50's and what is essentially all in the highest risk categories (Cohorts 1-9).

2nd half of the day or the second day itself on any Cineplex witness is probably the best time to be watching as it is the point at which Cineworld's counsel gets to cross examine and contest what the witness has said in evidence.

I advised last night on a cinema that I track as an attendance barometer and that for the new James Bond film that the Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening showings were near capacity already on Day 1. Having just further checked there have been more bookings and they have added a further screening on each of the 3 nights. fyi.

It looks like they are either trying to tease out a first bid or trying to pick up shares. I can't find any other known reason for today's dip.

It's miles too cheap and shouldn't even be in the predicament of several private equity looking to buy it at these levels.

I think in a few weeks time it won't matter.

If we are successful or it's a draw or modest settlement then the share price you would expect to re-rate back up.

For weeks I have found many excuses cited for falls but have actually struggled to find any sustainable reason for why the CINE share price has dropped from 88p. Some may even argue from 123p.

*F9 and Black Widow very successful films.

*Free Guy very successful
*Shang Chi much better than expected and trouncing the previous Labor Day weekend record

* Q4 slate just about to get underway with Bond and further strong content

Another good day and we must be in line for some good news on free cash flow given the way the oil price has been over the last period.

Hi couchman there was some pretty damning black and white on paper evidence last night against Cineplex on what they were doing and I only wish it was there in replay mode for everyone to see themselves. Hopefully that will be facilitated. If you had seen it yourself then I don't think you would have made the statement you did.

Yes solicitors will get paid irrespective of outcome but we are counterclaiming btw for a very sizeable amount of money and that is for costs as well. I will also say that the judge in this case seems pretty determined to run this to time and keep it on schedule.

I am purposely not going to comment on anything court room wise from today onwards as it is the trial starting with all the witnesses and I think the advisory notice that comes up on the intermission stated $25,000 fine and possibly harsher sentence. It's the cross examinations that will be the juicy bits imho.

couchman you clearly didn't watch proceedings unfold last night. I saw more than enough there to stick with this right through until the verdict (which I think we will win) and whilst we get there we can watch Bond and about 5 other films hit the silver screen and take good money. I wouldn't dilly dally with your Bond booking on the opening weekend if you intend to see it.

I think it might have been a night of hard reflection in the Cineplex camp given the string of documentary exhibits and the fact our solicitor countenanced virtually all of the Cineplex claims with similar audit trails of conversations and hard facts. No idea how they got their information but it was pretty darn good.

Has anybody in their research actually come across how much the Cineplex Directors stood to gain had the deal gone through?

Forget Canadian boas in reporting for you will always get that if you are tring to sell newspapers or clickbait the Canadian public. You would expect the same in the UK if it was the other way round. On what I saw last night we have really string arguments that justify the termination on multiple fronts and I think some of the witnesses for Cineplex are in for an uncomfortable and hard time being cross examined.

It's only Day 1 one of these going on sale and all I will say is that on one of the cinemas I track (and its been a very good indicator in the past) it is getting near to full already on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening showings.

PW I think that from tomorrow if this follows the way UK courts work then you need to be EXTREMELY careful in not communicating anything that is said from within the courtroom as it could corrupt proceedings. What happens in the courtroom I believe should in effect stay there and later witnesses should not be privy to earlier witnesses evidence and lines of cross examinations. I have had one family member who did work experience in courts. That may also explain why there were rulings on exclusions.

Good Evening Mountainous, I didn't intend to watch this but started to watch and got drawn into waiting for our solicitor to present our case in summary. Very glad that I did.

No intention of debating what was said but the article Bombdog has just posted is a fairly good summary as a starting point and when it got to the email trail thats mentioned the words I instantly muttered reference Cineplex was "They are in the **it".

I thought it pretty compelling and damning evidence.
