The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Does anyone have a view on how GDR compares with the other test companies? NCYT and AVCT seem good.

Mm the HL helpdesk say that a transfer of a suspended company shares is impossible, and that of course creates a problem with selling the shares.
Ludz that is possible, and a RTO would lead to cancellation of the AIM listing under Rule 14 which isn't good for shareholders.

The new RNS refers to M & A instead of asset sales. Is there a change of direction for the company and is a MT sale still being planned by the directors?
brook I am waiting for an email from Anders_uk today.
Anders, I've just phoned the HL helpdesk again. They have confirmed that a suspended share cannot be transferred online. Possibly I did not mention the share suspension when I phoned HL yesterday.
There is another issue. I have been informed that they are not moving shares from online to certificates because of lack of resources during the lockdown.
Anders_uk, thanks for the messages. I look forward to receiving an email from you.
Anders, will I need to get the shares moved to a certificate from the online HL account? I will check on how long that will take. The timescale may depend on the EUA registrar.
Anders_uk, I agree. The CITIC merchant bank are part owned by the CITIC bank, and will have access to funding from CITIC bank.
Have you seen my posts about the share deal yet? If you use the HL online share dealing account, it is easy to transfer my shares to your account online. It takes a long time to get my shares moved in to certificate form. A stockbroker may be useful to deal with the cash transfer to me. I don't have a stockbroker because I only deal online these days, but you can contact a stockbroker for advice and help if you like.
Spikey, can you explain the difference between an investment bank and a merchant bank please?
The early Feb RNS says - "The Company clarifies that its conversations with CITIC to date have been with CITIC Merchant Co. Limited ('CITIC Merchant'), the merchant banking arm of the CITIC Group Corporate Limited. CITIC Merchant is 51% owned by CITIC International Assets Management Limited, which in turn is a 46% subsidiary of CITIC International Financial Holdings Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of the CITIC Group):

CITIC Merchant provides M&A advisory, corporate finance, asset management, principal investment and fund management services."
Anders, sorry I have missed you but please do read the earlier posts on this thread from me.
I do not know Ethio or anyone else on LSE in RL.
Anders, if you have a stockbroker who is able to do this deal, that could also be acceptable.
I think getting the shares in a certificate could take weeks. That will cause a long delay.
Anders_uk, I feel it would be better to continue our communications in private, and I have now set up this email address that does not give away my name on the bb - st822912@gmail.com Please send me an email in response to my previous post.
Anders_uk, I've just seen your post because I have been away from the BB for a while. The lady I spoke with at HL said that my EUA shares could be simply transferred from my HL share dealing account to your HL share dealing account, and do not need to be held with a paper cert. I think it will take three or more days to transfer the shares from my ISA into my share dealing account. I need to be completely sure you want to go ahead with the deal before arranging that. Do you hold shares in a HL share dealing account?
I think we could complete by meeting somewhere after the shares have been moved out of my ISA. I live in Lancashire near Blackpool and may be able to travel to you. Do you live a long way from Blackpool?
Ethio, thank-you, and best of luck to you.
Ethio, thanks for your advice. There is still some uncertainty about whether there will be an asset sale or takeover, but the outlook now looks a bit better. If trading resumes without good news the sp is likely to drop.
It seems that Anders isn't too keen on buying anyway because he has not posted about phoning HL up to now.. I think he may not be too serious about buying.
Anders good point. Have you now spoken with HL?
