Final week, hopefully edge closer to the 64p mark ahead of Friday's expected completion. Sad to see another reliable dividend payer going but at least we've ended up with a decent outcome and most of our money coming back.

Beats me JB. I added some more yesterday at just under 50p & thought I'd been really clever, not looking so clever this morning! Not to worry, I'm buying at this level because even if they only pay 1p/qtr that'll be worth 8% & I reckon they'll be able to do that standing on their heads (see my previous email on the topic). Hold tight, things will turn eventually.

It's that, yes, plus the HH2A administration which definitely hasn't helped. And general market sentiment towards this sector IMHO.

Record income, NAV per share of 109.8p, rising dividend, yield over 10% + share buybacks. I'll continue to add when funds available.

At c.50p this is opening up a whole new area of interest for me. Let's say, worst case scenario, they only manage 1p per quarter in dividends, so that's 4p for the full year. Surely they should be able to do that ad infinitum with their eyes closed? At 50p sp that represents a yield of 8%. Surely that's got to be worth another look, even if (like me) you're already invested here?

Well, looking back at my previous post, they seem to have delivered pretty much as I expected. The Action story continues, stores opening at the rate of 1 per day recently. How long can it continue? Who knows, but enjoy the ride whilst it lasts. Shorters beware!!

Couldn't resist. Added another 2,750 @ 77.2966 for 10%+ yield. Might have been a mistake (falling knife & all that) but seemed too good to be true for long-term income.

You're right, those were the good old days when things were a bit more predictable. It's more about algo's & AI now which is pretty scary.

3i will catch a very nasty cold when Action stops growing at warp speed, but that won't be this year & I doubt very much if it'll be next year either.

Most Investment Trusts aren't growing the NAV at 30% per year though are they Hardboy? Markets look forward, not back.

Retirement planning just got a whole lot more difficult, for sure. If I spend my pension to avoid punitive taxes on myself or my estate, I might end up relying on the state to look after me in my old age. Something I had hoped to avoid.

Yup that's what I heard too jcb. He did say it was being reviewed though (the double tax element) but don't hold your breath. Dreadful day for anyone trying to get their affairs in order before the inevitable happens.
