The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from WS Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
The RNS again includes this:
"the Monchetundra Project comprising two predominantly palladium open pit deposits located 3km away from Severonickel, one of Norilsk Nickel's largest base metals and PGM processing facilities"
Could it be more obvious that the BoD are telling us NN is the buyer?
And Rosgeo giving EUA the JV shows that the Russian goverment are in favour of EUA, again pointing towards NN.
Stix - I can quote a larger special dividend, which I was fortunate to get. AGP was trading at around 40p in 2017 and it made two special dividends, one of 23p and one of £1.03! In this case the directors owned 96% of the shares and were using this to pay themselves the profit on selling property in China. That made me keen to look for companies where the BoD had a big stake - a big plus for EUA.
And also, why did you put an apostrophe in dividends?
I think the ACF report was commissioned for the II who took the placing, probably with the proviso that it was published after the deal was done. They would be expecting the price to rise on publication. Maybe it is eventually.
I followed the incessant ramping of EUA by Wandgrabbit on the old III SXX board, when it was 0.6p. I was much derided on the SXX board for following him.
I ended up investing £60k so I have a very large debt of gratitude to him.
Now to the important stuff. I am not a rum drinker but I will need (hopefully in the not too distant future) to toast my EUA dividend. So I am looking for recommendations.
I know one outstanding rum, following an excursion on a trip to Barbados, which is the St Nicholas Abbey, but would be very happy to hear what others have to say.
There is a difference between value and price. We have all worked out how much we think the assets are worth, but more importantly what will the market pay? I think we have a couple of real world indicators. When Alexei Churakov sold at 29p to the Russian II he obviously had inside information which he passed on, so we know at that point it was worth well over 29p.
Despite some good news we have seen that the share price refuses to go much above 29p. We have to assume that there had to be some leaks and the possibility of insider trading, but still there were no large buys before the recent announcements.
Conclusion is that the II’s think that they will get a good premium on 29p – but not massively.
I have always thought that Dimitri would want a 10 bagger on his 5p investment, so I am looking at 50p. You can argue that the assets are worth much more than that, but that is irrelevant if no-one will pay for them.
To my mind the references in the RNS’s make it clear that NorNickel is the buyer, and that the EUA will be left as a significant battery metal producer backed by the Japanese.
My prediction is a 50p dividend leaving a company worth 10-15p. And I would be delighted with that!
Note that in:
https://www.miningweekly.com/article/platinum-sits-in-hydrogen-economys-sweet-spot-wpic-2020-10-20/rep_id:3650
it talks about "substitution of platinum into gasoline catalysis to replace high-cost palladium". With all the emphasis on Pd in our PGM I can't remember how much platinum we have got. Presumably quite a lot!
Tobler - I think you may well have the right idea here. I originally thought that they would go for a sale of the big assets, then develop the remainder , but the later announcements talked about selling the whole company.
1noise - thanks for your mention.
I hope that both of you are right!
I have voted my 5.8 million shares in favour as I have faith in the BoD, but I certainly won't be able to afford to take up a rights issue. I hope that if it ever comes to that then I will have a way round.
Thanks for your thoughts. I am in at an average of .44p. I got in just before the cash call and was lucky enough to be able to buy more at 0.25p. That meant I have a lot more shares than originally intended but it has proved to be a good investment.
Hi Guys
I am in the October prediction at 2p, but I am not a very long term holder so I don't know the history of this board and why October1st was chosen. More specifically, I am looking to invest an amount for my nephew over about the next 3 months and was wondering if folks think that is a good timeframe for this stock.
