Leading article in Telegraph about JCVI chief saying can not jab whole planet every 6 months which is obviously correct. So together with Express article about new mutations in France and therefore need for Universal Vaccine. Seems world waking up to what Lindy worked out at beginning of pandemic and everything aligning in our favour if the trial works and we are well ahead of the game. At least the Guardian has worked this out.

thats at least Sky News, Telegraph and Guardian now very aware of what we are doing when news of trial results come out which bodes well for the deserved upgrade in SP . Hopefully interim results of trial in a few weeks which ties in nicely with half year results at end of Jan. Certainly beginning to feel durability of our vaccine as important as universality to truly knock this pandemic on the head.
Ruck, perfectly summarised. The biggest benefit of longer durability is giving the time for the world to be vaccinated.
ruck agreed, let me rephrase that to" not a long term solution". obviously the current crop of vaccines have allowed us to open up the economy again.
Seasons greetings to everyone and here is to a happy an healthy new year.
I have a question. With all the talk of continual vaccines, does anyone know how long a covidity is meant to last in terms of immunity. Present vaccines are clearly not fit for purpose if boosters required every 4 months.
Chelsea, we will obviously need a partner. Before hundreds of millions are invested in the infrastructure to roll our vaccine out it is fair enough at least initial data is required. I would assume the initial work on this has been done already how to make Covidity happen. Whitty now regularly mentions multi variant vaccines are in the pipeline, so the question is if it is not us who he is talking about considering how long these things take. The majors have been trying to do this with flu for years without success. Can genuinely see Covidity being bought lock stock and barrel because we can't make this happen regarding worldwide manufacturing and distribution and whether the deal includes the whole immunobody platform is another discussion. So final question is how many £bns is covidity worth if it does what Lindy thinks it will do regarding longevity and universality. The loss of GDP with each new lockdown together with the cost of each round of a new vaccine (4th being done in Israel) with each shot only lasting a few months is staggering. Patents are useful things aren't they?
Report out this morning saying AstraZeneca wains after 3 months. It is clear that current crop of vaccines are not fit for purpose, being based on old technology. Get those T Cells working for longevity of vaccine as well as better response from targeting N protein, the sky is the limit for us. Lindy is right to take her time to prove we have a long term solution to the chaos engulfing the world right now.

apart from short term trading opportunities not really that important. To be honest would prefer a solid upgrade based on trial results.
Roses, interesting that it says none are in clinical trials which of course is not true. But what is most important to us is the realisation by Whitty that the hunt for the Universal Vaccine is the only proper solution. Seems to fit in with our timelines and implies no one is ahead of us, so we are definitely in the game. Remember the 18 months is full manufacturing capacity to be rolled out worldwide not the fact we have a product that works
another mention of multi variant vaccine by Whitty tonight probably within 2 years which sounds about right. In answer to question about how often we would need top up. at worst on the same page as us, at best talking about us
no this was the profit taking opportunity he was looking for
Ray. For the whole Immunobody platform including Covidity leaving us everything else. Cheap to save the world
IVY, of course using existing technology was correct for the quick win to save lives in the short term but in the medium term is not the right solution. My question is Pfizer's boss taking only last week about using 3 to 4 vaccines a year not about producing a better vaccine. And yes developing a new platform takes time as in our case. And for that reason you have to get on with it immediately which Scancell did whilst using what you have for now until the new vaccine is ready.
Ivy Yes but they knew how long they would last, they only targeted the mutating S protein. Lindy knew this hence we could be on the cusp of little us providing the answers. My question is why they did not understand what Lindy did. I have a consumer electronics background and many new inventions came to market and often an imperfect product was launched but the improvements were always being worked on similar to electric cars today. It is obvious now that changing the vaccine will always behind the curve. So let’s just hope our trial comes off
no it isn't but it is in society's and government's interest who need society to vote for them.
Scouse is all the big pharmas came out with a short term solution and Pfizer President recently in press can't believe their luck on how many vaccines the world will need in his recent press interview. . What I am trying to understand is whether they understood mutation and why they didn't develop a follow up product that targeted the core 'N' protein and lasted longer or they didn't care. Lindy understood all that from day one. We deserve as much as we can get
its the longevity of Covidity with the memory generated by T Cells not just just the universality by targettingthe N protein that is so important. Vaccinating every 4 months in the developed world means the developing world won't get vaccinated and the cycle will never be broken. Cepi and a large pharma will need to run this. So if it works what is our price, £1bn? £5bn, £10bn+?
The world needs a vaccine that covers all variants known and unknown and lasts longer to stop the cycle of continual vaccination and reinfection to break the cycle or the world can not return to as we know it . Masks in cinemas and theatres here, empty football stadiums in Europe, people working from home as good customer service disappears to name but a few small examples as governments around the world make various random short-term policy decision to put sticky plaster on the situation as they try to keep the economy going so people can eat whilst ensuring not too may people end up in hospital leading to an increase in deaths from other factors. My 90 year old dad for the first time in years did not go to his annual check up as he was stuck in Portugal for 9 months unable to get home after a planned 4 week visit and last week discovered he has cancer and hopefully we caught in time for one small example. Global travel demands a vaccine for all or this will never go away. If our trial delivers what we are promised and N protein is neutralised making mutating S protein not relevant and T cell memory allowing for longer immunity reducing the need for as many boosters has such large consequences it is mind boggling. Pfizer are over excited as to how many boosters will be continuously needed and Covidity, if does what it is meant to do will change all that. The stakes are massive as I impatiently await the first data on the effect on the N protein and T cell response. For those who say why you don't buy any more, i am happy with my 500,000 shares in my ISAs built up over many years which will obviously generate tax free returns at wherever we end up. If it comes off this will be in the £s SP wise. As I said impatient like everyone else but by mid year everything will be clear with earlier news giving strong indications as to where we are going with this.
