Government Support26 Aug 2019 13:07
Please can some of you kindly end the non-sense, wake up out of delusion and finally realize there will NOT be any support for Sirius from the Government? It really comes down to 2 scenarios - either we raise the money (this way or the other) necessary to complete the project or we die...It is that simple. Sirius is a privately owned company , it is not a "critical national infrastructure", it doesn't "benefit the citizens" (not directly), doesn't "improve the essential public services" and it's not a "transformation programme modernising the civil service and fundamentally changing the way citizens interact with the state." Will it help to grow economy and create jobs? Potentially yes, like any other privately owned businesses (whether large or small). And so what? We are not a Childhood Flu Immunisation Programme, HM Courts & Tribunals Service Reform or East West Rail delivering the infrastructure to maximise growth and boost housing development. We are a privately owned company selling fertiliser at a profit and distributing those profits among its stakeholders (that's the plan at least)....Boris & Co are "monitoring" 1000s of things at a time, it doesn't necessarily mean they are going to do anything about it either. Current shareholders? Whatever. Nobody really cares. We were buying at our own risk. Can bonds be sold easily in September causing SP to double & triple in a relatively short period of time? Sure, it's possible. Can current shareholders be potentially "wiped out"? Of course, that's one of the possibilities too. How likely? I don't know - it's relative. Will we see a "hybrid" scenario or even a complete change of direction? Not out of the question either.
This way or the other, there will be no white knight on a horse coming to save us I'm afraid (unless he'll be wearing a Qatari thobe or Norwegian viking armour)....Like it or not but atm we are 100% at the mercy of CF / BOD and their ability to convince involved parties and negotiate / raise the required funds.
Fingers crossed anyway, clock is ticking.
