BumbleB.....It is unclear what cells Hyundai are using .....but it is most likely PEM....which goes someway to explain the huge cost of the fuel cell NEXO car.....even at £60k Hyundai are suffering a massive loss on every one .....hard to compete against that ....but maybe they will like the sound of a low cost AFC alkaline fuel cell system.....fingers crossed.

Hyundai have just unveiled their fuel cell generator....450kW....derived from their NEXO fuel cell car ....very cleaver the Koreans.....do you think they waited 4 years to test electrode longevity ?....check out www.gasworld.com (my copy and paste links get blocked.)

Also on the same page as that article is a link to the UK need for HFC trains.....expected to be running by 2022....so they must be seeking a fuel cell supplier now .....HFC trains are already running in Germany so we know it works....come on AFC deliver so real news.

Thanks DW.... some interesting facts and figures.....but the original post by southerhay was about one TATA steel plant in South Wales and AFC to maybe help reduce their emissions......how did we end up on some euro road map....

Southerhay.....I quite agree.....AFC should be exploring every opportunity.....if you knock on enough doors....someone will eventually let you in...

DW......So does that mean they have given the steel industry 30 years to think about change?.....the technology to change is available now .....they need to be more innovative.

I think you will find that TATA produce their own electricity on site.....up to 10MW.....may not be very green but would be nice to supply 10MW of fuel cells....

Should become a blueprint for all future sizable developments ....to become self reliant with their own green micro-grid......fuel cells supplied by AFC.....naturally.

BumbleB......must have missed that little nugget of information......when was the planning problem announced ? the last news on FEED must be 18 months ago......but I may be wrong.

There is already a nationwide delivery service for liquid H2.....Air Products to name but one will deliver your liquid H2.....the costs must have been factored in by AFC as they said competitive charging costs to Tesla.
