BumbleB .....Do you recall awhile back 8-9yrs maybe ...AFC mentioned the possible use of a fuel cell in data centres?.....mainly for there ability to suppress oxygen in the event of a fire.....was there any follow up news on that ?

BumbleB.....I posted this about a week ago regarding the longevity testing..........this is part of RNS dated 25th April 2017.... Stage 2 of the JDA will now focus on the integration of the best performing electrodes from Phase 1 within the enhanced fuel cell stack to derive a frozen baseline technology platform capable of warranted mass production which in turn will be validated at AFC Energy's industrial facility in Stade, Germany in the second half of 2017. The validation will include the metrics associated with power output, longevity, efficiency and availability. ... so as I see it we are still waiting for DeNora to confirm 2year longevity.....do you think they will be running concurrent longevity tests with pre DeNora involvement ?

Notes.....The 6300hrs is part of the ALKAMMONIA proof of concept test data.....electrode longevity was not on the main agenda.....electrode longevity will be running at STADE or at Dunsfold.

BumbleB......Have you read the article ...heading lifetime of fuel cell system....result achieved to date years 25.....target 8-20 ....target achieved ...yes how can it be referring to years ?

Piltick It is on page 10 .....they actually claim 25years (clearly a typo )...

DW ...Did the POWER-UP testing use DeNora electrodes.....they have not announced offical longevity data on DeNora electrodes .....or am I missing something?

Lets hope Akzo reconsider their decision.......take a look at the latest AFC fuel cell and place an order and especially Ineos to get involved again.

BumbleBee Have Southern Oil purchased a system without PLACE metrics being completed ?

BumbleBee ..AFC were clearly aiming their fuel cell at the chlor-alkali industry...and after many years of testing at Akzo it has resulted in no sales.....I believe AFC said " a hard nut to crack " an endless supply of free hydrogen and Akzo still not interested.

ItsallBull A strong promotional video is what may be needed now......bob the builder video clearly didn't impress Akzo enough ....for me back then....the biggest disappointment was the lack of interest by Ineos....Sir Jim Ratcliff is a very smart guy ....only yesterday Ineos announced it will spend £350 million on a new energy plant in Scotland at the grangemouth oil refinery ....so a small investment in AFC would be most welcome..

BeanyBoy......so why follow the discussions on this board ?....just sit back and wait for an RNS to arrive .....and I am certain positive and constructive mean pretty much the same thing.....you managed to bring something to the table ....your own positive views on the state of AFC .....which I also share .

DW....Whilst i understand your analogy.....in the case of AFC it just doesn't add up.....you more than anyone have tried to get "proper facts" out of them ...only yesterday you mailed them.....any reply ?

DW...You must agree that it is difficult to have a constructive discussion when "proper facts " ie the truth is very hard to find.....AFC keep it all behind closed doors.

The project was delayed by a planning appeal......that appeal was overturned in November 2018....so i see no reason why the FEED study did not re-commence immediately....

Southerhay.....referring to RNS 24th july 2017.... Dunsfold park FEED study.

Seems to be some sort of joint venture with Joi to get some funding from ADB....can they really produce enough H2 to power a fuel cell ?.....has the holy grail of H2 production been found ....anyway a few days on Fiji should be nice ....then on to Gladstone maybe ? see how Southern oil are progressing ......lots to look forward to .

oh no don't say that .....that will be another 10 years R&D.....
