Many people were so quick to criticise AFC's fully working EV charger .....yet this artist impression only ....with no detailed information whatsoever will save the planet ???

As some sort of guideline.....bearing in mind the gridserve charging station will also power the restroom and supermarket .....this is what is required..... On average it's best to model for about 5 hours of sunlight per day, so to generate 1 MW for 24 hours you would need 4x the amount of space (and panels). The equivalent of a 1 MW power plant would require 2 acres of land, nearly 14,000 solar panels and a ton of batteries.....

Athansius ..... When you made the your educated decision to invest into AFC.....clearly a long time ago....what was your personal goal back then ? what was your dream ?

Thank you BumbleB .......I was not aware of this info ...the half year RNS 16th July just mentioned a third party cracker....So if they have plans to develop small stationary off grid units... 5-20kW....i guess we will need to tender the cracker manufacturing ....mmmm....sounds like more lengthy delays .

BumbleB ..You mention in your post that our partners have only delivered the ammonia cracker in the last year ....who are the partners ?....is there a contract with them ?....or have I missed something?

Mucksy... It is part of the Dunsfold Park masterplan to power homes and industry....all part of the micro grid AFC are planning.....to retrofit into existing homes may be cost prohibitive....anyone got a clue what a 20kW fuel cell would cost to install at home ?

I must confess that AFC do sometimes make it hard work to fully understand their announcements.....but this one sentence in Mr Bonds summery surely cannot be misunderstood..... We look forward to working with Advanced Plastics as a new key supplier to AFC Energy's fuel cell system."

Séance.......or maybe they are just using good business sense in trying to get the best possible prices on all individual components.....I think the cost element of PLACE is probably the hardest part to nail down...

BumbleB ...Maybe this is the year where actions speak louder than words.....come on AFC.

Chippyjo ....Porsche have plans to roll out a network of super chargers ....at 450kW per charger ....to make sure their new EV the taycan has somewhere to charge.....if there was any connection with AFC then that would have to be public knowledge by now ...a 450kW fuel cell at every charger ....WOW ...what a great RNS that would be.....

Chippyjo would that be the brand new centre at Sidcup ?

Nice idea Chippyjo.....unfortunately the Germans have been working on that one since July 2016....with the fastcharge research project......there is a working charge station in Germany delivering up to 450kW.....and is free to use....so we are not competing there then .

Daz9643.....Do you have access to the amount of hydrogen needed to supply an EV charger ? or how frequent it needs refilling ?.....As DW has tried to explain many time it was a proof of concept trial....AFC were approached by persons unknown to trial a fuel cell charging station .....which is what they did .....the infrastructure involved to support CH2arge has not been disclosed.

Piltick ....The strain on the national grid will be helped considerably when AFC start rolling out the multi megawatt micro-grids.....can't be long now ....as the UK aging power stations are wound down ....replace on site with AFC fuel cells ......simple ...come on AFC.

Daz9643 ....I think this was changed slightly with the RNS on the15th Nov... The Southern Oil project has incorporated an initial engineering study and logistics exercise which has identified key areas for project optimisation and improved efficiencies in design, leading to a potentially lower cost and rescoped solution for both parties. The project, subject to confirmation of final commercial terms, remains on track for delivery to Australia and commissioning within the early part of the third quarter of 2019, with the sale and lease agreement between the two companies expected to be completed in the near future..... This contract with Southern Oil was agreed without PLACE being completed....yet we hear that PLACE needs to be completed before full commercialization will begin.....anyway there simply has to be good news just around the corner .....come on AFC.

BumbleB .....Do you recall awhile back 8-9yrs maybe ...AFC mentioned the possible use of a fuel cell in data centres?.....mainly for there ability to suppress oxygen in the event of a fire.....was there any follow up news on that ?
