Taskmaster ....Back in January i posted this link ..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOrS6buynAk .....entertaining insight into Klaus.

When you can present to this BB the a true cost comparison of a Power Tower system vrs a Battery storage system and all associoated costs for both systems then we may be able to do some number crunching .,,... as i pointed out in my last post .....these are trial systems ......customers will decide .
Gitfinger..... I hear what you are saying......The 10 kW Power Tower may be perfectly adequate for some customers and not meagre at all.....a Fiat Panda may have a meagre power output but customers have been buying them for over 40 years .....why ?.... because that fit there needs .....should a customer decide they require more power.... then as you know the system is scalable or bespoke ...dont forget these are trial systems and it will be the customers that will highlight any inadequacy in that system....not you or me......i would agree that there is certainly a market for BESS's .
Gitfinger ......I think you will find that the battery that is used with the Power Tower is there to power up the system .... the control electronics, pumps ,valves ,motors,.... all require power to start the process ......once the process is running the battery will be there to support demand if required.......will your car operate and drive without its battery ?..... if you used an equivalent sized battery pack ...that battery pack could need changing multiple times a day if demand is constant .....
Garonne.....Have a look at the website ......the Power Tower is modular and scalable to 100kW .....that in my view is a larger system .....hope that helps ......https://www.afcenergy.com/our-offering/technology-products

The new ABB E-Mobility factory is in Tuscany ....but the destination of the 100kW system has not been confirmed ..... https://new.abb.com/news/detail/92348/abb-e-mobility-opens-its-largest-dc-fast-charger-production-facility-in-italy

Why have you assumed it will be on its way to Estonia ? .....the 200kW system will to be delivered to an unknown location and to be decided by ABB in due course......where have they mentioned the destination of the 100kW system ?
Thanks for the reply Gitfinger.
I am not sure that Extreme E are overly concerned with the MSP battery pack that is used for the charging of the Race cars .....since the whole series revolves around battery powered SUVs they are actively supporting BEV vehicle use .
Extreme E also purchased a secondary large battery storage pack from Zenobe to help support the paddock power supply .
You will also know that the Kiazen system will require 70kW of off grid power to keep that unit running ....i think AFC delivered a sysytem to Extreme E that met their requirements at that time .....until someone makes a clear and precise announcement we can only guess.
Some notes from the interim report from June 29th 2022.... " Discussions with Al Taaqa Alternative Solutions for a distribution agreement has continued with valuable insights received on the end user demand which can be summarised as a >100 kW system supported by flexible fuelling solutions. The relationship is ongoing and we are currently evaluating these requirements into our product roadmap and looking at ways to accelerate the timeline whereby we can deliver to their needs " Seems to be ongoing and revolving around the 100 kW system ....
Thanks for the nomination Gitfinger .....Appreciate the 10 seconds of thought you must have put into that response @ 10:21 ....What are your views on the Extreme E decisions and do you think AB will make an announcement ?
Could it be that AB needs all his best staff ready to be sent to Norway for the VARD contract ......and wherever the ABB contract maybe taking place ....perhaps AFC could not commit to 2023 with Extreme E.... Could be why we had no mid-season update as we did in 2021 .....will all be cleared up in the year end statement .
Perhaps AB commissioned this limited batch of AFC H2 gin in celebration of the ABB 100kW system being successfully deployed ? ....anyhow it has found a slot on the AFC Case studies board before Mace and Kier .... https://www.afcenergy.com/case-studies
Easy to see how the Power Tower would fit in at the distillery... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEUVPAl3E24&list=PLH0dlOdhKOYTOfLpFU0V1USXzP6lw3YBw ...Maybe Surrey Copper Distillery could produce a new video on how they have created the AFC H2 gin .... featuring the Power Tower in full operation ....
Well Kier seem happy with the battery storage units .....they are even prepared to publish some facts and figures to back up choice ...... https://www.kier.co.uk/media/news-releases/kier-is-first-uk-business-to-mandate-battery-storage-units-to-help-achieve-its-net-zero-carbon-goals/ ... lets hope they will soon publish some facts and figures regarding the Power Tower installations .
Seems to have slipped a little since the deployment announcement in the interim report back in June ..... " Power Tower system leased to Kier for South West construction site deployment in August 2022 (signed post period-end) " Kier just announced they are now switching to battery storage units ...... will they still want a Power Tower ?
