Smalltrader - my favourite but was when Mooky said he told Ellis that they (cp) couldn’t take loans in the form of rent deference or not paying studios / suppliers & that CW would not have it and see it as a breach…..he told the cp ceo directly not to do the thing he was already up to his elbows doing….lol would have loved to hear that conversation.

Well this is a slow motion car crash for cineplex, Mooky is doing a great job of sticking to the main facts of the cineplex breaches, regardless of the nonsense the lawyer wants to talk about.

The more I’m watching the more I think cineplex have bought this suit to deflect the attention of their own shareholders anger over the failed deal onto CW, I’d be very concerned if I was invested over there.

Just to add to mountainous’ comment they are also in breach row other ways, 1. They didn’t get cineworld permission to agree new terms with landlords and 2. They traded circa £20m of development rights in the lease of one of their cinemas, again without cineworld’ permission. I think those breached clauses alone are enough to exercise a break but don’t quite me on it. Has to do with the company materially being the same upon close as when the agreement was entered into. Night all.

Oh yeah and If the cineplex main vector of attack seems to be document delivery dates I’m happy AF as they have naff all else. Mooky - “maybe 10,000 documents, maybe not all we’re sent” classic.

Guys, can’t tell if it’s going well or horribly….but I can tell that Mooky is really irritating the cineplex lawyer by not being led into traps and ambushes. He’s in fact picking the lawyer up on errors. Enjoyed that last bit for some reason.

Well, the cineplex guy is being incredibly rude….Mooky is I think getting frustrated at the constant attempts to cast doubt over his and the co’ integrity…I like it when he goes off on one and ends with cineworld complied with the contract and cineplex breached it, seemed to really annoy the lawyer……not sure if it helps our case but made me smile.

Learning the hard way the meaning of this phrase….

What do I want for Christmas???

JG - I completely agree as a simpleton I see good news generally and good news cine specific and expect an SP bump, obviously I am a maniac as it almost never does what I think, I was just trying to offer a possible explanation. More to ease the pain of yet another day of the SP kicking me in the puss!

I have no doubt long term we will be rewarded, but in the interim it’s clearly going to be torture and I may need to vent every now and then lol

Plumber - I agree, the biggest unknown for Cine is the court case.

I think it’s what’s causing “drag” on our SP. AMC are a meme so not relevant, Cineplex are as distorted as we are which leaves only cinemark as a comparison, they appear to be at roughly 2/3’ of pre pandemic values and we are less than half. The reasons for thin IMO are 65% the unknown court case outcome and 35% down to the increased debt position. Everything else that can or will effect the market isn’t Cine specific so whilst keeping an eye out not really factoring into my Cine investment decision.

JG - imo our fair value is actually closer to 0.75, we had a pretty good worldwide Cinema ramp before the bond release so perhaps this slip is with hindsight to be expected….i flaming hope.

Cine exec’ take the stand later today, as per the court stream yesterday. “Our turn” so to speak.

I know it’s almost as if he’s been caught selectively using evidence and has been caught red handed….makes me chuckle when steep literally makes him agree to contradict his own testimony.

Yeah, I agree Cine was and is more than viable and grossly undervalued, had most of my savings in over £1, just wish I had better timing. Deffo love the reports of strong business at the moment make me feel content (even sitting on a paper loss) it’s just a matter of time and a bit more nerve, was very very sketchy when we got into the 50’.

Steep is doing a great job of pulling Cineplex’ independent expert apart. He’s forced him to walk back several of his own proclamations.

Evergrande could be a cause for a crash as they have enormous exposure to the Chinese property market and have been operating what amounts to a pyramid scheme trying to rob peter to pay Paul and hope the music doesn’t stop, of course it now has.

As you say could be buying opportunities coming which are welcome. Chinas the gift that keeps giving.
