Bhants, I pity those unsophisticated first time investors who heard us cruisers bigging up CCL on their first cruise and went out and paid £40+.
£150 OBC will need a few cruises to cover that hit.
TBH, I've sold a few this morning banking a reasonable profit to invest elsewhere. K

Topo, It should be a positive start across the Pond but we must also be wary of profit takers impacting SP , as we've seen so often. K

Aangus1 Can you fly from Glasgow to Soton, the airport is close to the city?
We live in Kent so Soton just a couple of hours away and our Son lives down there so very convenient.
Nice to see the SP holding up after the US opening!

Bhants, Lol , We are both over 70 , our first of many cruise was on Arcadia, then Aurora and Oriana but we like to try all of them including other Lines but P&O suits us fine. We never travel in school holidays.
Aangus1 We use Bolsover Cruise Club, much easier for booking and sorting issues out directly with P&O. K

The most important for us is the itinerary. Small , large or mega ships they all have their merits.
I find the Arcadia and Aurora rather sedate and actually do like the mega ships because of the choice of dining options as in my opinion the food served in the main dining rooms is mediocre at best. TBH a if the deal is right and the itinerary appealing the ship choice is not so important.
Bhants is right about Fred and Saga but Carnival choice from UK you also have Princess and Cunard on which your OBC is applied, albeit in USD. K

Bhants, I don't think Ludlow is good in front of a camera. I don't like his habit of dropping G from his words Sailin, shippin, enjoyin etc but if he makes it work good luck to him.
My pal in Dallas just returned from a Seabourn cruise which was fully booked. One of the Carnival directors was on board and he was very optimistic about the future and confident regarding the debt reduction. K

This time in 2017 we were just off on Arcadia WC.
Things were rather different, the share was £25 ish and we were getting quarterly dividends of 50 cents per share. I bought 1000 before we left, still got them but averaged down to under £9 now.
A long way to go but at least the bow is pointing the right way. K

Carnival have a JV with China Shipping with a new ship under construction and two Costa vessels reassigned to the new brand which expected to launch late 2023 based in Shanghai.
Smoking and gobbing allowed in all areas LOL

Is it good news? The Chinese haven't mastered Covid and their vaccine is ineffective against later variants. Their relaxation of rules is for political reasons. Countries in that region are already putting restrictions on Chinese travellers in fear of the Covid Genie getting loose again. What we don't want is more infections in Europe & North America which would be the kiss of death for cruise lines. K

George might not be the most dynamic leader but he's got us through a critical very expensive development period. The Chinese will no doubt be tough bedfellows but GR seems comfortable with them. We just need to see out the next few months but IMO we're on the right track and I for one are more relaxed now than I have been in the 3 years invested. K

Usual trend when US opens, profit takers from yesterday's dip. Very annoying but with this stock we should be used to it.
