Carillion will start work on the £56m new link road between Doncaster Robin Hood Airport and the M18 motorway in October The Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS) has now completed its final statutory procedure with the Government granting the local council powers to purchase the land for the scheme and carry out the necessary work to public and private rights of way. With the public and private funding agreements also completed, two-year long main construction works can get underway helping to regenerate the village of Rossington and provide vital road infrastructure for major private sector investments including the Inland Port development and the re-development of the former colliery site at Rossington. A FRESH decision will be made on whether a controversial £23.5 million green energy plant between York and Selby can be built, after a council error led to the High Court quashing its planning approval. Peel Environmental’s plans for an anaerobic digestion plant – using organic waste to produce power for about 3,500 homes – and horticultural glasshouses on the former North Selby Mine site, on green belt land near Deighton, got the go-ahead from City of York Council in April, but councillors must now debate the scheme again.

******BLACK OUT BRITAIN******** just old enought to remember when our gas meter was changed from TOWN GAS ( as in UCGasification /syngas) and early 70s 3 day weeks etc. Dad was a shop steward at FORDS they were always on Strike. Anyways looking at Daily pwer generation today we are on about 38 GIGGAWATTS not sure what the MAX capacity for Uk generators without pulling from France/ Ireland grid is HOWEVER Have a great New YEARS EVE 2014, cos in 2015 at least 10 GIGGAWATTS of power stations are coming off line due to the EUROPEAN LCPD DIRECTIVE ( dirty coal and oil stations) so make sure we all have our candles ,tilly lamps and PROPANE heaters at the ready. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Comment:- Significant that the old Harworth Site is now let. The larger Colliery land still has all the infrastructure in place...... for deep coal mining. Will this be reopened and sublet to Mining operator?? also this gives futher questions on the land assets of the other deep mines and Surface mines being operated by UK COAL ( now NOTHING TO DO with HARWORTH or COALFIELD RESOURCES) Does Harworth own all the land assets in England that includes the Deep mine collieries being operated by UKCOAL?? whether they do or not, it seems Harworth Colliery site is worth a buck or 2? answers on a postcard for todays conundrum??
