DOWNLOAD ok just back on to the Land bank of open cast sites, that Harworth own ( notice a former one was CUTACRE), so thi s is totally relevant given the life span of say 2-5 years for an open cast site?, Cutacre is now an ALDI DISTRIBUTION site in build stage, also a site for a BIO MASS Plant :-D opencast sites ( remember we are just landlords not miners) Theres say 3 have planning 11 in operation and some moth balled.....( planning failed, although usually passes the next year)...this is just a guess ...... all the info is there to read and freely available. there is also the unknown ( green field sites), that need looking at............. the green field sites would have cash value as a Landlord to the Mining company, however as Agricultrual land its worth diddly squat, ( poss some future use as shale play), however can live too far ahead... so green field after open cast worth nowt... Harworth has also recently applied to Bolton Council to develop four million sq ft of distribution and manufacturing space at its Logistics North site, located at the former Cutacre opencast coal mine site near Bolton (pictured). The application is expected to be determined before the end of the year and, if successful, infrastructure works will commence in spring 2014. Harworth has already agreed to sell the first site to Aldi, the supermarket group, for its new 450,000 sq ft regional distribution hub. On the Bolton plans Michaelson said: "As one of the largest landowners in Northern England and with a strong track record in regenerating sites of this nature such as the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, Harworth Estates can make a real difference for the area and we're determined to do so."

Owen Michaelson, chief executive at Harworth Estates, said: "The FARRRS project is an excellent example of private developers and the public sector working effectively together to deliver a road which will unlock the employment and housing land required to drive forward Doncaster's regeneration." James Newman, chairman of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, added: "The Doncaster Sheffield Airport link road will greatly improve the City Region's connections with its national and international markets, as well as opening up a substantial amount of new land to investors and developers." The completion of the FARRRS link is expected in early 2016. A meet the buyer and networking event is taking place at the Robin Hood Airport on October 24 where businesses can meet the buying team of road contractors Carillion and representatives from Harworth Estates, Peel Group and Verdion to find out about their plans.

Harworth Estates, the company created to realise the property assets of what was UK Coal, is set to move forward with the redevelopment of the Rossington Colliery site now that work is underway on the important transport scheme known as the Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS). The new link from Junction 3 of the M18 will be instrumental in supporting growth and the expansion of services at Robin Hood Airport run by the Peel Group and provide the necessary road infrastructure for Harworth Estates to build 1,200 homes on the former Rossington Colliery site and Verdion, formerly Helios Europe, to build an innovative rail freight interchange called iPort also in Rossington. Based on the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) in Rotherham, Harworth Estates is one of the largest landowners in the UK with access to over 30,000 acres of land. It is contributing to the financial cost of the new road scheme along with the other private sector developers. Harworth's planning application for Rossington includes 1,200 homes, a foodstore, pub/restaurant, hotel and petrol station

1,200 new homes Harworth Estates, the UK property regeneration company, has announced plans to remediate the former Rossington Colliery pit yard near Doncaster to develop 1,200 new homes on the site. Barnsley-based VHE Construction has been appointed by Harworth to undertake the work. The aggregate extracted is to be used in the construction of the Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS) that begins this week.

INTERESTING to note the comments in NORTHEN ECHO article ( on this occasion, the land has been sold by Harworth to AN other, however this shows, how as LANDLORDS, Harworth Estates still own SIGNIFICANT COAL MINING OPERATION land This may or may not be licenced to Coal mining operators. another significant part of the business to look at..... Harworth Estates have many many avenues for business , just a few: SRFI stratgic rail depots road to rail road to rail distribution depots new eco Business parks older business parks to be redeveloped major distribution hubs such as Cutacre wind farms lots in the planning now biofuel generation plants on going now with Peel Coal mine methane plants, either farmed out, or in the pipeline, needs another look, ie Alkane have 2 on the go now, 1 at Prince of Wales site, Harworth have some that are on the New BIOFUEL sites, my guess is that as with Peel Energys first 2 that are being done now and are having CMM drilled, the 2 are to be combined, ie DRILL FOR METHANE and STICK A BIOFUEL PLANT ON the list goes on..
