Ian, the news isn't priced in... not at all. yes, it's a bad sp but it's going to take a couple of weeks for the company to quietly admit (not that they actually will) that things have been seriously impacted.

yes, this is the new low but, as said earlier, averaging down insn't making a profit for pi's. it's just adding more money into the pot to also be hit by further drops, if they happen.

while i'm not a fan of the goading, i do think chaebol is right that the sp will be hit further over the first month. it also shows that the finferro was truly desperate attempt to sideline some bad news. but it doesn't do what a MICA would. if it did there'd be no point in reapplying (which also doesn't guarantee anything!).

i'll always keep tabs on GST(if only because share drops and spikes offer opportunities)but as MICA will take at least six months to conclude, not sure what the biz is going to be like in early 2026 and the next interim will be dreadful.

1. The Nature of the Relationship

GST (through its brand Bake) uses Nuvei primarily as a payment gateway.

What Nuvei does: They handle the "On-Ramp" and "Off-Ramp." This means when a user in the EU wants to buy crypto with a credit card or a bank transfer, Nuvei processes that fiat currency transaction.

What Nuvei does NOT do: They are not the custodian or the exchange. Under MiCA, the company that holds the crypto or executes the trade (Bake/GS Fintech) must have their own MiCA license. Nuvei's licenses cover payments, not crypto-asset services.

2. The "Nuvei Shield" vs. The "MiCA Wall"

The "reapply" RNS you mentioned is critical here. Even if Nuvei is perfectly happy to process payments for GST:

The Legal Barrier: If the Bank of Lithuania says GST cannot operate as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) starting tomorrow, Nuvei’s compliance department will likely be forced to flick the switch off.

The Risk to Nuvei: As a massive, newly-private company owned by Advent International, Nuvei is extremely risk-averse. They cannot legally process payments for an entity that is deemed to be "unlicensed" or "unregulated" in its home jurisdiction.

3. Does it help with the Poland Pivot?

This is where the relationship is useful.

If GST successfully moves its operations to Finferno (the Polish VASP they just bought), they already have the technical "plumbing" with Nuvei ready to go.

Instead of building a new payment system, they just point the Nuvei gateway toward the Polish entity.

The Catch: Nuvei will still require a legal opinion from GST’s lawyers proving that the Polish registration is sufficient to cover their operations in other EU countries.

4. Summary: Is Nuvei a "Lifeline"?

Technically: Yes. It means GST doesn't have to worry about how to take money from customers; they just have to worry about the legality of being allowed to hold it.

Legally: No. Nuvei cannot "lend" GST their licenses. GST must stand on its own two feet regarding the MiCA regulations.

The "Bottom Line" for Today

The Nuvei relationship keeps the Bake app functional from a technical standpoint, but it doesn't solve the regulatory rejection from Lithuania. If GST doesn't get the reapplication sorted, Nuvei will eventually be a "bridge to nowhere" because there will be no regulated exchange at the other end.

if MICA wasn't important, the company wouldn't be applying. Finferro was a desparate back door to continuing to operate but noone can say this isn't a body blow and i'll be amazed if this is just brushed off.

Lloyd, Bake continues but it can't trade to DACH as they have no vasp for those countries. Revenue will be badly hit this coming year and I suspect they'll now have to find another placing, possibly another cln as not sure who'll fund them this year.

plus resubmission feels worse as the company now will be very much poorer than it was.

but it might not be as bad as that.

All depends on the news and how much is priced in, after the spike on the G7/Canada hope.

while all the facts are still the same, there's less impetus after the fact. Trump is pushing many avenues for rare earths, even if they're longer term.

if you don't see that there's obviously been selling from the 70s (the only way a share price can drop, unless you have a cracking conspiracy to explain it) then 40s doesn't have signficant buys, nor mcnulty raves nor the ramps that come with it.

no doubt it'll come at some point... whether it comes with him getting in on a relatively cheap placing and then pumping and reiterating the story or not (it will) there'll be water-treading until then. and if you want to dismiss that there's no buying impetus atm then that's fine. and if it's 'tedious' to restate it, fine too. doesn't make it any less true.

If, after the pummelling you've received from the company, you're still very comfortable with its progress (of course you all are!) then great.

as for me, what i posted was relevant and it was relevant until the sp stopped rising. that was because the market was only buying so much of it... when the rns didn't arrive this morning i figured i'd take the money and run.

if it doesn't arrive tomorrow or by Jan 2 then my own caution will pay off... if it does no doubt there'll be gloating but, depending on how any rns reads, i'll either get in and see if i can make more or... not!

i understand holders who keep pouring scorn on anyone who's seen as a chancer but, when all's said and done, this is just about making money. and if you're not making money then you're losing money.
