Our new product to test for new variants is a superb addition to the stable. Just sat down after a hectic day and was thinking about the S.A and Brazilian variants. I believe the Brazalian variant was first discovered in Japan , I don't know about the S.A variant. The virus is global , many countries have very limited testing infrastructures , we will only discover them when they are already here spreading in local communities. I see no end to testing , unless we become an island in the true sense of the word closing all borders. Vaccinate everyone in the UK , but what about the rest of the world and immunity duration not known nor efficacy against all current or yet to be discovered mutations and they appear to be plentiful.
I would like to see stats for deaths in care homes for all these elderly people now vaccinated, because they should be dramatically reduced !

I think unfortunately they will discover more prevalent then anticipated and phase one plus extension will be utilised very quickly. K

Think we all would have, could have ,should have , instead I kept adding even as high as 9.33
I am not concerned who is doing the PCR testing , it is just further proof to the govt that without PCR they would be even further up the creek minus their paddles.
The reason I am not concerned whose test it is, is because yet again the govt have reacted too slowly and this is already all over the country. They knew in December about this variant ,yet they only stopped incoming flights last week. Already we know it adversely impacts therapeutic treatments ( see Gasmans post) and today I have been reading that two shots required to offer any immunity against the S.A strain and even then immunity around 50 % and even lower in those aged 80 above. This would put the vaccine rollout way behind. Cannot find which paper I was reading this in, please post if you have come across it. So as Van points out these portable integrated instruments are going to be indispensable moving forwards . Today is depressing , I believe information being withheld from the public whist they run like headless chickens as this variant impacts how vaccine is rolled out. I have not read anything on how quickly this one spreads , any info ?

Oriens seriously that is ridiculous , you may not be a fan of twitter and find it rampy but I would guarentee that Tay knows substantially more then you or I. In the past I have mailed Tay directly and run things through I wanted clarity on and the response was always top notch IMO K
