There has been 'talk' in the past about district scale gold mining, well this is more Village scale gold mining. No doubt some will be aware of the Welsh Gold miner Alba which has recently cast its first gold coinage. These were put up for auction and the first 2 or 3 sold for circa £20,000. You can see pic's of these on the ALBA bb's recent RNS's if you haven't.

I have to say they do look utterly splendid but I'm not sure I'd pay £20k - may be £5k.........

My question is what would you like to see replace the Welsh Dragon on the Havieron gold coins in a couple of years?

I know why some / many are concerned with consolidation because I've been badly affected too in the past.

BUT isn't just the case that we are NOT dealing with a cowboy AIM consolidation for all the wrong reasons but with a grown up ASX consolidation for all the right reasons. Now we get to play with big boys.

Yes MFU, I think SD is firmly placing Greatland as a 'large midcap' (or better), must know / believe he has resources available to do so. I always thought 10:1 was the most likely outcome but 20:1 shows serious intent. I'm well pleased.

Given the (shortened) December Qtr report was out on Wednesday 22nd January then the obvious date to look out for is Wednesday 23rd April.

Yes I hope to be buying 2k or 4k shares on Monday, depends on the price and how much of the £20k is left after other purchases.

Willu You'll probably need to use a spreadsheet to best work out how much to sell. Remember the ones you sell are the ones you bought last, ie it's LIFO Last In, First Out for tax purposes.

Don't forget you have report your CGT trades if you sell more than £50k in a year OR make more than £3k profit. I used to run a joint CGT book with Mrs Babbler when it used to be worth when you had £11k each. Nowadays forgetting it too much hassle.

This is just to say that the December production report was on the 22nd Jan so that would suggest we've got to wait 3-4 weeks for the Q1 report. Wednesday 23rd April would be the obvious date, but could be before of course.

So the Fomo needs to be keep under wraps a little longer or dealt with!!
