You know the ones that make me really sad are those who say they won't have children "because of the planet" as if the Earth was some kind of ancient and vengeful Moloch to be appeased by that sacrifice. I hope they actually don't like children and sincerely would abhor to have some and they prefer to use that excuse for that choice to look trendier - because if they actually do like children and may have liked to have some of their own, it's really heartbreaking.
Anyway, in the old seaside house I'm renovating I have chosen a mix of geothermal and wood heating. Not for the "planet" (notice how Earth seems to have lost its name sometime around 2000 ?) but to protect myself against crazy communist politicians.

@jotom750 : Well nuking them would be plain evil now, and somewhat uncalled for, wouldn't it ? After all, If the malthusians are right, the problem will solve itself through mass starvation and drowning anyway. Survival of the fittest. If they are wrong, everyone can just go on their merry way, burning fuel and eating lots of beef in their beautiful seaside cottage. What's not to like ? It's not like you can personally stave off doom by eating worms and freezing in your own home, anyway.

@Horult : I think nobody denies climate changes as it's been the case since our good old Earth exists, it's the anthropogenic bit which is far from being settled and precisely the one which is weaponised to make us accept all kind of experimental, borderline malthusian policies. There is nothing green in buying panels made in China out of all kind of hard to recycle materials, import them to Old Blighty, and either have intermittent power or store it in an imported battery, also made far away and hard to recycle. Would make much more sense to use Scottish oil and natural gas for industry and heating, would also boost local employment. Why does the European man must care for everyone's needs before his own, do you think the Chinese, the Indian or even the American will return the kindness ? Nah, they will just laugh as we are back to Dickensian times and they enjoy their wagyu beef while blasting the A/C.

Team @big-blue here, the green energy fad is pure, unadulterated *******s. Even if the whole of Europe was back to the stone age eating bugs and pedalling to work every day, wearing several sweaters in damp and unheated offices on mechanical typewriters, the CO2 emissions of China, India and the US would not go down and render the whole painful effort pointless. The reason we have to endure such policies is to grind the bourgeois class between the mills of inflation and taxation, as Lenin said. The middle class was getting too uppity and they will now learn to own nothing, and be happy. Still I have to tip my hat to these fraudsters, tying a fact (climate changes all the time) to an ambiguous but politically exploitable theory (it's anthropogenic change !) is genius. Same brilliant move with the coronavirus really : it wouldn't have been the same without the "asymptomatic cases". That's how you whip the masses into fear and paranoia.

@big-blue : As if the USA and EUssr were on the same team. The name of the game currently is the ruin of continental Europe and indirectly China. The FED raising rates will crush the stupid central banks that followed the same printing policy without being reserve currencies (the euro, the yen are floundering) and China's economy will be severely hit by the lack of demand as the western customers will be broke. All in all, the isolation of Russia is a blessing in disguise in that environment.

@Newdealz : I'm that french guy :) I had found a kazakh broker but they stopped allowing to buy POLY on May 24th. Also, I guess american citizens will have an even harder time opening an offshore dealing account, due to FATCA. You should see the form I had to fill to open an account with Halyk Finance : Are you an US citizen ? Do you have an US address ? US PO Box ? US contacts ? and so on and so forth, and I guess if you tick "Yes" your application will be rejected... The other serious lead was Fineco Bank, but a trip to Italy was required to open an account for EUssr citizens.
Very interested if anyone has a way to keep buying POLY. I wonder if it would be possible to buy P2P ? Like, a kind lad living in the land of the free (the UK, obviously) buys some POLY share using their respectful broker, a resident of non-free country can then send them money and they transfer the shares like one would non public company shares ?
It's so sad I'm even considering this kind of contrived scheme to be able to buy a publicly listed, non sanctionned security. Hope the commies imposing their silly woke morality on us will get their proper comeuppance in the future.

Thank you @Redmoor, @angioprime and @vish_k, that's very kind. It's very hard to find which broker allows what without having an account. By the way, for those frustrated not be able to buy POLY, there is two other similar stocks which can also be bought within an ISA : Kopy Goldfields and Auriant mining. Both are swedish and I guess they are too small to be on the censors radar. I have bought 75000 shares of Kopy Goldfields, Auriant is interesting as well but much smaller and the communication somewhat sparse. Largest shareholder is a British lord though (Peter Gilbert Greenall Daresbury). Both are a much riskier bet than POLY, because they don't have assets outside Russia.

Is there anyone on this board using IG ? Looks IG accepts foreigners, and when I tried the demo account it looks like POLY can be bought without restrictions. I'd be very grateful if someone actually using a live account could confirm buy orders actually go through (my current french broker let me input buy orders but cancels them immediately afterward...)

Fineco Bank looked like a great lead what with them being an Italian bank and all that but as far as I can see, only british and italian residents can register an account. I contacted the customer service to check if there is some loophole for other EUssr countries. Thank you for the tip, anyway, much appreciated. Currently my only other option is an interesting kazakh dealer called Halyk Invest with a very nice customer service (hopefully they'll be just as good after they got you to sign up).

Well being French I wouldn't dare to use "guv" or anything less than RP, that would be cultural appropriation which is as frowned upon as joking, but that's the spirit nonetheless : just talking about my measly 4000 shares. All my guile and scheming is dedicated to one devious thought: how to buy more. I don't have any beef with your nor desire to see you banned. Hmm, you may say the poubelle doth protest too much ?

By the way, it looks like Charles Stanley Direct may accept foreigners as well. I have no idea if they allow buying POLY, though...

Indeed, most brokers require residency (Halifax and Hargreaves Lansdowne definitely so, Interactive Investor is not as explicit and I'll try my luck contacting them). Anyone has experience with iDealing ? It seems they offer DMA and accept EUssr residents.

Hey guys, I would be very interested to know which brokers allow you to actually keep buying POLY. I live in France and was lucky enough to buy 4000 shares in March at an average of 150p but as time goes by I feel like rounding it up to 5000 (or more...) but my french broker does not allow buying anymore. So, bonus points if the broker also allows non resident foreigners to open dealing accounts !
