There is no reason to be ill informed in any endeavour, and in finance as in health, faith and trust have nothing to do with the process.

Anyway, I have simply described how the thing works, feel free to check it out yourself, I'm not trying to indoctrinate anyone here, I just think DYOR does not only apply to investment, it's useful for everything. I have no opinion on the NovaVax, it's too late in the game and has been sidelined so I didn't had a good look into it. Synthetic proteins looks safer but if, like Watcher36 said, the spike in itself is toxic (and there is some studies backing that up, it's bad for the epithelial tissue), in pharma everything is about the dose, so I don't know if a dose of NovaVax would be bad... Much weirder is how Valneva has been treated, this was a regular inactivated virus vaccine and it has never even been authorized I believe. Anyway, since the last variants have been so mild, I'm not sure looking for a safe covid vaccine is even interesting anymore. I think looking for a trusted doc that respect the will of the patient including falsifying records if some weird, one-size fits-all treatment is mandated on the whole population would be more interesting at this point. I have not been able to find one in France, as they are all state employed, the social security is their paymaster, and the Ordre des Medecins will ban "troublemakers". Maybe there is a more healthy private medicine in the UK, where the patient is still the customer ?

@Big-Blue : I'm not saying people will keel over, I'm saying a lot of people have been harmed, they'll likely survive but have strange health problems due to the random inflammations or auto-immune syndromes the vaccine favorised. Just look into the strange increase of sudden deaths or public figures face planting... When I went to school in the 90s, I didn't have any friend dying suddenly, well now there is a suspiciously high number of young ones just dying of heart issues or in their sleep.

@Wather36 : I have to confess that them laughing at our face with this SADS made me skeptical of more traditional vaccines as well. SIDS also happens right during the infant schedule, but this is even more taboo. The mere fact all this has become taboo to discuss smells bad, science is about vigorous debate, not "trust". Trust and faith is for religion. But well, since people have started to wear "Science, it works, *****es" it seems for some it has become akin to a creed, not merely a tool to discover truth.

@Watcher36 : Yes, I saw EcoHealth alliance is still doing its thing. I wonder if this chimera would be that effective released in the wild though, even if the omicron spike is much more adept at contaminating, such a high mortality rate would likely limit the spread to local flare ups as the carriers would die too quickly to spread it that far... @Watcher36 : Nope, I just have a BSC in bio-informatics, so I understand the basics of genetics and molecular biology. From the start the way it worked seemed dubious to me and the more I looked into it, the more horrified I became. I don't understand how people could just "trust" TV and state "doctors" and did not even bother to research what was clearly presented to them as an experimental product. Everything was published in the open, people just had to read research papers, which is not that hard.

The design of AstraZeneca is similar, the adenovirus vector is not specific to any kind of cell and can infect them indiscriminately. It then squirts its DNA payload into the cell, which transcript it into RNA (and there can be errors at this point, yielding misfolded or incomplete proteins). It's suspected the clotting issue is related to some affinity of the carrier for platelets, several people got some weird auto-immune reactions targeting platelets for this jab which did not happen with others. Anyway, the whole idea is very flawed for a vaccine, it's only advantage is it's cheap (the protein is made in your body, not in a lab) and could be interesting for other kind of medications. But for a vaccine, better stick to the proven and true injection of a deactivated virus, so that the immune system can properly target it, not just a single surface protein.

Big-Blue : As much as you are right about a lot of things, there is no "good" jab wrt COVID. Look into it if you want, but the current mRNA vaccines design is moronic in that it lacks specificity and is essentially a auto-immune/inflammation reaction russian roulette. Why? Well, the lipidic particles that carry the mRNA into your cells were supposed to stay at the point of injection, which had been demonstrated to not be the case. Since the lipidic particles have been designed to enter cells without distinction, they can and will carry their payload in any kind of cell they encounter. If this is heart cells, well, they will start producing the spike protein and will appear to your immune system as infected cells. Your immune system will then attack them, as it should. This is called an inflammation. When it happens in the heart, it's bad, as your heart cells won't be replaced, and you get a myocarditis. It can happen anywhere, it's random, it completely depends on how well the product has been injected (if it was carelessly injected into a blood vessel, it's worse) and where the mRNA ends up. Another problem is the dosage, it's way too high. A dose of Moderna has 100 micrograms of mRNA, which is similar to the mass of viral genetic material at the peak of a severe infection. So in essence, a dose of Moderna simulates a severe infection for one day. When current variants are so weak, why submit oneself to such an agressive treatment ? Especially when it's been proven not to protect against infection and contagion. Why? Because the spike is the part of the virus which changes the most between variants anyway, due to mutations, so the antibodies produced targetting the "perfect spikes" coded by the vaccine are not very efficient against the real thing and may even be more of a bother (look into ADE).

@Watcher36 : 100% correct. I did not got the "jab" either. The more time passes, the more we can see how much they lied about it (stopped contagion, safe and effective and all that). I won't delve into this topic as it is even more inflammatory (ah !) than Ukraine.

My final thought, wrt "pillaging India" : in international relations, might makes right. India, just like China, was unable to protect itself from being looted and it has been looted. If it were not by the Brits, it would have been by another power. We are currently just as weak and being looted just as well as the decadent India of the XIXth century was. Sadly, there is no Gandhi in sight for us...

@CleverThoughts : Well, I'm physically in France even if I'm "here" on this board. You see, CleverThoughts, you're taking things from the wrong side when you argue about well integrated foreigners. The question is, why is it that only white majority countries must accept boatloads of random people from the four corners of the Earth ? Why is it that diversity is our strength but there is not a single white guy to be seen on random pictures of the streets of Lagos ? of Beijing ? of Tokyo ? I could continue ad nauseam. Why do we have to share our motherlands but with people who don't bother to obtain a visa (making those who did look like fool, btw) but we ourselves would not fathom going to Africa without the proper paperwork ? And would likely end up in a nasty prison if we did, without anyone protesting. Where is our Indian reservation, CleverThoughts ? @Carltt : Don't despair, there is more hope for Britain than there is for France. We're too dumb here to secede from the EUSSR like you did. With any luck, the cold winter orchestrated by our betters will entice some foreigners to go back to their countries, ours being turned into "sheetholes" like President Trump so vividly said, in order to subsidise the US Democrats money laundering operation in the land formerly known as Ukraine.

As a frenchman I can tell you, Britain is being poisoned with the same ideological venom than the EU.

Under the guise of tolerance and silly values, we let our countries invaded without spilling a drop of blood (well, if you don't care about white girls raped and white boys slaughtered with knives, like pigs) and hoodwinked with too-smart-for-their-own-good state "scientists" we don't even have children anymore while the invaders breed like hormones-crazed rabbits, without a care in the world for the tall tales we believe in (Mr Obama's seaside house going underwater, Britain turned into a tropical country...).

@pipsjunky : HL and Interactive Investors do not accept non-resident foreigners, especially filthy frogs like me. I could only snatch 4000 at 150p average before the french brokers went fascist and restricted buying (while still allowing selling...). Man, I was in front of my screen in March when the price blipped around 125p and I was like "Nah, this may go back to 92p, I should wait for my last 1000, average even lower...". I sinned with greed and bitter is my repentance.

I just need 1000 shares more for a nice, round number. However you put it, 4000 looks and feels like unfinished business.

This is very disappointing to me, because I still have not been able to open an account with a broker that allows to buy POLY. I'm looking at IBI in Israel currently. Lads it would be nice if you could keep the price below 200p until I can buy ? Please ?

For those poor souls like myself who can only see POLY getting cheaper without a chance to top up, there exists similar plays which are too small to have been banned by overzealous brokers. The swedish small caps Kopy Goldfields and Auriant Mining both have gold mines in Russia. I'm more familiar with Kopy, which have good results and is unaffected by sanctions. I have bought 100000 shares of Kopy goldfields, it's less of a steal than POLY but still probably a 2 or 3 bagger when the war will end.
