What conspiracy ?
To hear/read some on here, it reminds me of the children when I was in primary school (4 to 7) "My dad's bigger than your dad". So weird to see that in "adults" ignoring the reality, the death, damage and heartace their "heros" have caused. For what? To attempt to reconstruct a failed experiment, one that goes against simple human nature.
Maybe, one day, these people will grow up and see life for what it is, a fleeting chance at happyness for all, something to be cherished.
GLASH
The UK has been in NATO since it's inception. I can't see any problems there. On the other hand, what has happened to the Warsaw Pact? That's because one is a group of self determining countries choosing for themselves and the other a construct of one superpower and other imposed upon vassel nations.
People want democracy, even though there are many issues still with different implementations of such, they do not want an autocracy.
Those that ignore the reality of this should wake up.
Razza.
Interesting that you are uninterested in the many tens of thousands of young russ1ans being put to death by a leader that has no care for his "subjects". Not sinse lenin has there been so little thought given to a populace by it's government. (Unless one includes north korea).
Pete.
That's good. There have been a couple of brokers mentioned around here, one is Woods and Co.
https://emea.wood.com/about/
I think that you can also contact Polymetal and they will suggest some.
All the best.
GLASH.
Pete.
Have you confirmed that they have not been sold and that there are not the proceeds of sale in your account?
Or is that 50%!
Presently the price difference is about 35% Do people think that this differential will be maintained? If so, why?
Does it bode well for the potential sale of the Russian unit as it has the higher stock price (odd as it may be), or will the price set be some average or other value? For those on Tabys other than finding a broker is there any realistic way to capitalize on this?
GLASH.
John. What you people cannot and don’t want to grasp it seems, is that unlike many in the east, we in the west have enough information (if we decide to use it) to make up our own minds, you on the other hand just have a binary view on all things political. It seems that American lead discussions with all parties regarding the west bank problems and all involved were getting to a very favourable stage. This as Hamas wanted is now halted.
The U.N. has decried Israel's settlement expansion as unlawful, many in the west agree with that view, I also personally agree with that view, but how to enforce it is problematic when some have stated aims to destroy your whole race.
Never having been involved in such, I cannot say where self-defence ends and overreaction starts, but I'd say it was quite close by now for Israel.
I do though understand some of what certain nations are doing to destabilise world peace and democracy.
Where any of this effects russ1a’s invasion of sovereign Ukraine is really below the thinking of any adult such as yourself, as well you know. This is not the school playground where “tit for tat” is the rule to act by. If it were, how should the rest of the world view wagners/russ1a’s destabilising actions in nearly twenty countries in Africa?
Anyway, our little poly is squawking again, hopefully soon ready to fly.
GLASH.
Good to see you've at last accepted that the russ1ans are unwanted invading Occupiers.
It's always difficult to make sense of anything when one’s hatred of some involved factor causes one to make illogical decisions. Some here's hatred for the west, always makes that a possibility.
Over the last five years gold has risen by 51%, this was during a time of historically low interest rates, so money flowed to assets/stocks, causing a rise in those values. Now is a time of high interest rates, government 30 year bonds are in some cases paying up to 6%, so money has flowed out of some assets into government debt bonds.
Will the dollar be deposed as the world currency of choice? I don't know. What will help gold rise in the short to medium term, I think uncertainty, be it economic or political. If the despot anarchist trump is re-elected, I do see the dollar weakening (and gold rising) some here would like that, but not always for the obvious reasons. Is there a reason for gold to jump nearly 14% in the next couple of years otherwise? Not as far as I can see unless interest rates start to quickly drop, which according to international reports is not expected.
As we know, even present gold prices are above Poly’s budgeted ones, so things should be good on that front. Though it may just knock a few percent from any offers coming in for the russ1an bis.
GLASH
Warmongering.
Has the world have ever seen a more active warmonger than the person who controls and continues the invasion of Ukraine? I don't think so. It seems that some here have used the same playbook as the repugnants in the states. Deflect, and scapegoat. Sorry to say, it works in his country, but how anyone can defend it I don't know.
"the war mongerers Doris ,Benny wallace and of course slow joe biden."
So by that logic Churchill, Charles de Gaulle and Franklin D. Roosevelt, were to blame for WW2 and Hitler was just an innocent bystander. I never realised that.
(Some people tie themselves in so many knots that they speak from places other than their mouth.)
Sign1.
Agree with what you have said, I did laugh (internally) when some here were raving about gold going to $2100! Unfortunate that it's decided on this time to drop because obviously it will impact on potential offer prices for the russ unit and divi’s going forward.
I don’t see an offer anywhere near pre war prices, Chinese companies seem to want something for nothing and play games to exclude potential counter offers, and as for Russian ones, well POG did not fetch much, did it. That aside, unless one bought at near highs and did not average down in any way, hopefully most will do OK.
GLASH. May the war end quickly for all involved.
Not sure if this has been posted.
"MOSCOW, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Gold and silver producer Polymetal International (POLY.MM), has completed a shortlist of potential buyers of its Russian assets but newly proposed taxes could significantly lower the price, chief executive Vitaly Nesis said on Monday.
Polymetal International completed re-domiciling to Kazakhstan from Jersey last month, getting a listing on the Central Asian nation's Astana International Exchange (AIX) and saying it would sell the Russian business within six to nine months.
Nesis said his current expectation was nine months. He said that Russia's new exchange-rate-linked export duty, expected to take effect from Oct. 1, "will have a significant negative impact on the expected sale price of the Russian business".
The duty, announced last week, will range from 4% to 7%, reaching its maximum if the rouble is weaker than 95 per dollar, as it is now. On Monday afternoon it was trading at 96.05.
Nesis confirmed media reports that while the interested parties for the Russian business were Russian and Chinese buyers, an independent committee of the board of directors had hired a consultant, "a reputable, Western one".
Nesis has said a new Russian rule requiring investors from "unfriendly" jurisdictions to accept a discount of half the market price if they sell their Russian assets would not apply to Polymetal thanks to its redomiciling to Kazakhstan.
He said in comments cleared for publication on Monday that there was big interest in Polymetal's Russian assets and he was not expecting any "catastrophic" discount.
"The sanction status of the Russian business is an important factor for structuring the sale. It will probably scare off some buyers. But I am saying with confidence that the deal will take place," he said.
Nesis said the company will "definitely" pay a dividend on its 2023 results. The board would discuss an interim dividend in December, depending on financial conditions and on progress with the sale of the Russian business," he said.

Touched a nerve? You just don't like reality. Most nations (including the UK) have a far right presence, only delusionals and propagandists deny that. Most nations though do not use them for their own aims.
Con't.
"First, it used the neo-Nazi threat to justify the adoption of anti-extremism legislation, a longstanding demand of some Russian liberals. Ultimately, this legislation would be used to prosecute Russian democrats.
Second, the Kremlin launched “managed nationalism”, an attempt to co-opt and mobilise radical nationalist militants, including neo-Nazis, as a counterweight to an emerging anti-Putin coalition of democrats and leftist radicals.
Moving Together, a pro-Putin youth organisation notorious for its campaign against postmodernist literature, made the first move by reaching out to OB88, the most powerful skinhead gang in Russia.
This cooperation expanded in the aftermath of Ukraine’s Orange Revolution of 2004. To insulate Russia against the contagion of pro-democracy protest, the Kremlin transformed Moving Together into a more ambitious project called “Nashi”, or “Ours”.
As part of its preparations to confront a potential democratic uprising in Russia, Nashi enlisted football gang members, whose subculture overlapped with the neo-Nazi underground.
During 2005, Nashi’s thugs staged a series of raids on anti-Putin youth groups. The most violent attack, which left four left-wing activists in hospital, led to the arrest of the assailants. They were released after a visit to the police station from Nikita Ivanov, the Kremlin functionary who supervised the regime’s loyalist youth organisations.
The resulting scandal provoked a reconfiguration of “managed nationalism”. While Nashi distanced itself from football gangs, its radical militants migrated to two rival Kremlin proxies, the nationalist “Young Russia” group and the anti-immigration “Locals” group. These organisations became bridges between the neo-Nazi subculture and the Kremlin.
Neo-Nazi leaders implicated in killings
As I demonstrated in a recent study of the Kremlin’s relationship with Russian fascists, these linkages made possible a bold experiment to create a pro-Putin neo-Nazi movement.
In 2008-09, the Kremlin was threatened by Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny’s efforts to build an anti-Putin coalition of democrats and radical nationalists in Russia. In response, the Kremlin began to work with Russkii Obraz (“Russian Image”, or “RO” for short), a hardcore neo-Nazi group best known for its slick journal and its band, Hook from the Right.
With the assistance of Kremlin supervisors, RO attacked nationalists who were abandoning the skinhead subculture for Navalny’s anti-Putin coalition. In return, RO was granted privileged access to public space and the media."
there is a phrase "the pot calling the kettle black"
"some have pointed out the far right received only 2% of the vote in ukraine’s 2019 parliamentary elections, far less than in most of europe. others have drawn attention to ukraine’s jewish president, volodymyr zelenskyy, and the efforts of the ukrainian state to protect minorities like crimean tatars and lgbtq+ people, who are subject to brutal persecution in russia.
what has received less coverage is the putin regime’s own record of collaboration with far-right extremists. even as russian diplomats condemned “fascists” in the baltic states and kremlin propagandists railed against imaginary “ukronazis” in power in kyiv, the russian state was cultivating its own homegrown nazis.
the roots of neo-nazism in putin’s russia
the origins of this relationship date to the late 1990s, when russia was shaken by a wave of ****** violence committed by neo-nazi skinhead gangs. after putin’s accession to the presidency in 2000, his regime exploited this development in two ways.
