Cheers for that Heatseeker. The ex colleagues you met up with, did any of them know about / have any opinion of Capita's AI offerings? Strong leadership team at the helm, but I although I have some of the basics, I would class my AI knowledge as weak.

Agree Max, CPI need to be right on it now, no more f ups. CSPS contract looks to be going nicely at long last. They keep providing a service like that, then they will get work, even from a Labour Government. Cpi do like to mess up though, so I can appreciate why the tension is high on here.

Ultimately Capita need to hit their targets and show they can provide a service. If they do do this and it is cheaper than taking "in house", then even a leftie Gov will do this as that's money saved for other projects. If Cpi will do it is another question though

I would say the political standpoint could affect Capita (this is obvious), however as I have said before, I know people in the Civil Service. Ok, it's a fairly small sample but the tech used is behind the times still. Frontline, the UC system is ok, but they still use really old platforms for JSA / ESA.

Elsewhere, AI is being implemented, but is there enough skill in house to deal with pressing matters anyway? Wages are generally lower so high quality staff are usually found in the private sector rather than public. I just don't think there is the tech, nor know how to take things in house yet. Not saying it can't happen and if the Gov continue to invest in tech, it could happen. But if they are investing and also potentially having to pay higher wages for skilled workers, then a deal with a private company like Capita / Serco etc could actually save them money.

Yeah, they can only concentrate on their own priorities but will be interesting if the political landscape shakes anything up.

A Tory Government usually would utilise private outsourcing anyway, but suppose it depends who's in power. Outsourcing boom under Blair. Let's see what happens, as said, I'm not really too clued up at all with current politics.

@Culley01 Indeed mate. Was pushing for updates re the sale of the contact centre and pension scheme. Pointless really I know, but like some on here, I feel shareholder contact isn't a bad thing.

Any change in direction/plan, obviously the market would be updated as Helen says, so you'd have to think they are on target for sorting the pension out by end of June. Really isn't long now. The completion of the contact centre sale may take a while longer mind. Also gone quiet re the Sopra Steria lawsuit too

Asked about major shareholders, obviously I was going to get a "no comment" regarding that. As there hasn't been a further market announcement regarding the cs pension, hopefully that means the end of June target is still going to be hit. No idea re the completion of the contact centre. Weak future margins killed this share price at results so I'm really hoping this is sorted soon

We don’t comment on any shareholding changes – our focus is on delivery our strategic priorities. We would expect to be asked about the Civil Service Pension scheme at the AGM on Monday. If there were material changes to expectations regards to this or other guidance and targets we would make a market announcement. The sale of the low margin private sector contact centre business, once complete will clearly be a boost to the operating margin – per the announcement we made end March as well as the related efficiency programme and greater use of technology that we outlined both with the FY results and separate retail webinar.

Funds chop and change all the time. Don't see this as good or bad news. Capita need to make sure they hit their targets, nothing else really matters (a fund like Oasis buying a huge amount obviously a good sign however). Cpi need to get free cash flow, strong margins etc. Contact centre sale has to go through, that's a huge drain. And obviously the cs pension nonsense. Hopefully this will be sorted by the end of June, IR said they would have to update the market if there were any changes.

@Culley01 Cheers mate. Looking forward to what is said and if there will be an update about the cs pension scheme. It's mid May so they've got about 6 weeks. Is a bit squeaky bum time

I know that has been posted before and Staveley has done quite a few interviews and discussed Capita.

Listened again last night and noted his comment along the lines of "we think the public sector will come into full view of mainstream investors" bit. Also added comments about 8% margins and 75% into cash. He also stated "That division alone is worth at least 900 million quid" which I did note last time, but not so much about the public sector coming into view of mainstream investors.

I wonder if we are seeing that now with Oasis? They have built up a large position over a short time frame. Interesting times and for me, the AGM and next results are pivotal. Capita have to deliver now. And for me, they don't even need to deliver that high, 50p old money and I'm more than likely gone.
