Some other considerations2 Feb 2020 16:31
I have been a share holder pre Newmont and have posted nothing as there aremany more knowledgeable than me to whom I am grateful and from whom I have learned much.
Australia is a great country and its people are kind,,capable .brave and resilient. They have had to be with the recent human, animal ,homes and livelihood tragedies caused by the bush fires.
I feel for anyone who has suffered, but especially for anyone from GGP or Newcrest who have been affected in anyway.
Although there will be the obvious economic drive to make a success of this possibly unique find,I wonder whether an extra drive to succeed comes from a desire to boost the morale in a country that has suffered so much recently. To make a real success of a possibly unique find.
I have no idea whether the government would gain financially from the success of this venture but the country will need finance to help as best they can those that have suffered
Further, if the corona virus shuts borders down and hence exports and imports from China that feed some of the Australian businesses then those that are successful internallly will be vital and if this situation persists the price of gold will rise
Finally Paddy Thank you for your amazing contributions to the education of shareholders about the company developments.Would you be prepared to ask GH if GGP has a “just giving page” for those that have suffered as a result of the bush fires.
Even a tiny contributionfrom profits when shares are sold(which could be large given some of the figures mentioned here!)might be a nice gesture
I appreciate that people have worked hard to earn the money to invest in the first place and may have their own good causes to which they give but it was just a thought especially as the BOD have set a standard on AIM which we wish some others would copy
