I am not really concerned at a small increase in shorts at this moment in time. It's probably just another way, besides their algo trading to attempt to keep an orderly lid on the price rise of share.

@gemjee - that's the only type of situation that will make them run for the hills. Some people are 'awishin' and 'ahopin' for them to burn (I personally would pour petrol on'em at the same time if it helped), but in the absence of some big, big news /surprise these guys will exit with nothing but smiles on their faces, and whilst I join in your hopes, it won't happen. I personally don't expect or even want to see a bid here. They would have to get past Asfari first, and desides, for LTH's there's far more value in here over the next couple of years than a quick buck up to a £1 or so

Like the humour, but no seriously. Stop losses when the MM's are after shares to fulfil big orders is huge risk!

Got caught out years ago with BDEV, one moment I owned a load, next time I looked they were gone. When I checked it out the whole process took less than a couple of minutes.

Play the game as you will but for me once caught, twice shy.

In the absence of a sudden bit of really good news anybody looking to see the shorters 'burn' is going to have to look very hard, 'cos the hedgies will control the price rise very closely indeed.

Word of warning for those of you who use stop losses. In a situation like this, especially, don't set them too close to the going price otherwise if the MM see big demand for buys they will suddenly drop the price for a couple of minutes most and take out all your stops!

There is a minimum tradeable unit of 200,000, which would make his purchase of a FEW amount to $90,000!!!
