Any chance of you shedding some light on the 'chunky' sells Darren (cheeky ask)?

Strange thing is according to share trades there's been no 'bot' trading since 0834hrs, all Ordinary trades.

Were the shorters trying to 'set the tone' early on and see what PI interest there is?

2 of the 100,000 'sells' are marked as ordinary trades. Could they possibly be buys?

Different story to be had there maybe?

Like someone else mentioned, volume has dropped dramatically, no new speculation going on to attract the day traders, no swings in price therefore, in fact it's being held tighter than a wrestler's jock strap.

Perfect conditions for Hedgie to start reducing their postions without affecting share price.

Don't think this is going to see 20p today. As soons as it rises, even slightly, it's being brought back down.

Wouldn't be surprised to see that, Millenium p'raps, or another have or are, reducing their short - (no evidence, just a feeling!)

I know I'm being a bit pernickity here 'scoredagain', but it's only the shorts ABOVE 0.5% that have reduced a bit.

On the 8th Dec. 3 hedgies increased their shorts by +0.32%, and 1 (Millenium) reduced by -0.14%, net overall increase in short then actually of +0.18%

The fact that Millenium reduced their short took them out of reporting range of above 0.5%, and so it only APPEARED to be a reduction.

Exactly what I warned folks who use stop losses about last week! (AL4x!

It is intended to drop very fast and for a very short time only. It didn't bounce back because of PI buying, they want to avoid PI's taking advantage of the sudden short drop, hence it's over with before you can bat an eyelid.

One positive to take away though (if you were caught) is that it might signal a large order they need to fill, and they didn't have the stock?!

I also sent the email below to IR at Petrofac on 7th Dec-

"I am a long term holder in PFC, and I'm sure you are fed up with PI's asking you questions about the recent 'debacle' with PFC share price.

I apologise in advance by adding to this, so, my question to you is ' how confident are you that there is not a leak coming from either PFC or the banks/creditors etc you are dealing with.'?

I ask this in relation to Astaris Capital Management in particular. Having hardly traded in PFC since the end of June, all of a sudden from around the 4th October they almost doubled their short in just over a week. They have virtually led the shorting onslaught suffered by PFC since then, and have now almost quadrupled their short, adding EVEN after the statement PFC were forced into making recently.

This smacks of a confidence not bred from knowledge in the public domain.

I would be very grateful for your thoughts on this"

Nondescript reply, but at the least it might make someone in the organisation ask a few questions, possibly, and make 'em tighten the 'ship'

It will finish the day at whatever the shorters are happy with! We can p... around all day with our own views but we are mere spectators and have not the slightest effect on what is happening - (that's esp. for you Snapsalot)

Yeah, it was inevitable but it's a shame loads of day traders jumped on here. Source of shares for the shorters now that they've got their 5 or 10% gains, or whatever, and holding on with very loose grip.

Still each to their own I s'pose

Any stop/loss setters - if this starts to gather some real momentum (to 25p), be very very careful where you set them!

I Don't believe Israel/Hamas had much at all to do with rate of PFC's fall.

Compare Wood Group for same period. Petrofac has dropped circa -74% compared to Wood Group at -15%
