70 exhibitors expected at next year’s Anwerp diamond trade fair
27th July 2012
The fourth Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair (ADTF), scheduled for January 27 to 29 next year, will see a boost in the number of exhibitors from 60 this year to 70 in 2013, following a surge in demand from Antwerp diamond firms.
The expanded fair, facilitated by the Diamond Club of Antwerp, will not only host more exhibitors, but also expect an increase in the number of buyers and buyer groups from North America, Asia and the Middle East.
Antwerp is the world’s leading diamond trading centre, servicing global buyers and sellers who are either based in the city or frequent visitors. Over 50% of the world’s polished diamonds and 80% of rough diamonds are traded in Antwerp.
ADTF organising committee member Avi Pinchasi says the growth of the exhibitor body has resulted in the ADTF inviting a larger number of selected diamond buyers, as well as leading jewellery manufacturers, retailers and designers.
“Following the successful participation of buyer groups from Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries during the 2012 fair, we’re investing considerable time and effort in bringing additional exclusive buyer groups from North America and Asia to the 2013 event,” he adds.
The trading halls of Antwerp’s two largest diamond exchanges, the Antwerp Diamond Bourse and the Diamond Club of Antwerp, will host the exhibition, where a selection of diamonds will be on display and for sale.
