Ownership of the shares will be changed in time for the record date. Likewise if you sold Barratt shares at 4.30pm on the Wednesday 25th you wouldn't expect to recieve the Dividend would you. At the open of business on the Ex-Dividend day the SP will start at approx 34.4p off the previous day close. Other things affect this though. If other indicies have gone up over night and the FTSE intends to open higher then it might not be the full 34p down. You can follow all the indicies 24hrs a day on IG index. They have FTSE100 price out of hours based on futures and the other indicies that are open, Hong Kong etc.

swingy Best advice is, Don't buy any shares here. Forget AIM, trust me it's a nightmare. Since I changed to main stream Ftse shares I do a lot better, and when a share price is a bit down at least I am collecting dividends.

Don't forget Ex-Dividend day for 34.4p is only 6 weeks away. That is 5.8% of a £5.89 share price. I would think this share will be bcak to £6.20 to £6.30 by ex divi day

I wouldn't loose too much sleep over these builders. Big dividends. I am also very top heavy with TW and Barratt. But where is there any better to put money. I also have plenty of HSBC at a lot lower price than the current price, love their quarterly dividends. Have 11 different companies in my ISA. 13 in my normal account.

Buying yesteday at 595 is like buying at 561 as you get the 34p dividend back soon. Only 10 minutes to wait to see what will happen today.

I for one was very happy with the drop. Great buying opportunity. Bought a few extra in my ISA and 3000 more shares in an ordinary account. Looking forward to steady climb back to 629. Should easily get there by ex-dividend day 26th Oct.

what you are saying is you want it to get to 660 before Ex-dividend day. If it was 660 on Wednesday 25th Oct then there is a chance it could be 626p on the Ex-dividend day the 26th Oct. BUT the chances are it might drop more than the 34p. if it only gets to 635 by Ex-dividend day then on the Ex-dividend day it would be 601 or less

needs to be 626 after the ex-dividend day, which means it would have been at 660 already before the ex-dividend day. It's possible. but I wouldn't bet my house on it. Currentley dropped to 594p
