sold a my shares in normal account at 192.9p.... I am holding onto my shares in ISA

Divchaser You have made a 1.35% gain in 20 days. That is great but its is certainly not amazing. You have a lot more to do if you are going to make 27% over the year. If you don't make and more in the next 20 days then that gain is over 40 day which would bring your pa down to 13.5%. I have plaenty of HSBC shares and have been in and out since 2012 and I dont't think this is a time to sell. Next Ex-dividend day is 17th May which is only 5 weeks away. I see this share been back over �7 soon. It is not long since it was �7.97. I am waiting for �7.80 before I think about selling any.

mushroomkid Hang in there with TW. Ex-Dividend date for 10.26p special divi is 31st May. This will drive the price above �2 and probaly back to �2.12 where we was just a short time ago. Upto if you sell at the high pre ex divi date or take the divi and wait for SP to recover. As you know the share price normally drops the by the price of the divi an often more. BUT last Thursday 5th was ex divi day for 2.44p. At the close on the 4th the price was 185p, end of ex divi day 187p, a gain of 2p plus the divi. Now just a few trading days later 190p.

OMG This is the first time I've been right. Last Thursday I said " I think 190 next week ". In the past I've always been impatient, always sold far too quickly. I missed out massively in tens of thousands on Rio / BHP / Glencore / easyjet / Unilever plus more. Had a lot of these share held and after been in a loss sold when they turned around but far too soon. The prices that I sold the above at look ridiculous now. RIO £24. BHP £12. Glencore £2.10 / easyjet £11.70. None of them made me a loss but compare prices to now.

if like me you are looking to sell maybe 50% to 100% of these shares when they hit 210 ish again then you might as well sit back for a bit. By special ex-dividend day 31st May they will be there, in the meantime you can collect the 2.44p dividend, a maximum of 9 weeks.

would you think about getting out of TW when they reach 210 again. I will sell at least half.

CNA are not up near where i bought them. lol RE: TW what can we expect dividend wise after this year ? 3 years of special dividends. Without that we are doomed

I have CNA, ITV, and TW, all down at the moment. But if i try to deal between the 3 i can i can be sure it will go tits up. When things are bad like this I just leave it a while till the market sorts its self out. They are all in my ISA so long term investments anyway. I don't expect to loose in the long term. Short term doesnt matter. Best to just walk away for a few months

I hope we make it to 190 by ex-dividend day. If this stops in low 180's then it could slip to 179 of less when you take divi off.

A rise to 1349 then straight back down to a little over £13, why ?
