Believe me I will never forget the change from 50% to 23.5% for what? $25m dollars when the exchange rate was about 1.25:1? Don't start me on whether that was a good deal or not.
I agree the abacus bit. Declining grades (in fairness expected), a reduction in asset share but with a second mill allowing greater throughput. My experience is that they will hit predictions. Not through overperformance but by calculated under promising so that each and every year Sener can claim an outstanding year of exceeding expectations. This ploy becomes obvious after the first few years

I think a nice steady climb here is what is needed. Any dramatic rise will put off people who then think they have missed out and can quantify significant cost of not having invested a few days earlier. A steady rise gives chance for people to get used to the idea, do a bit of research, see a rising SP chart while not being put off. So for me a fraction of a penny a day is perfect.

Certainly looked to have broken through the 12p 'barrier' that someone mentioned the other day looked difficult.
I tried to get a quote to buy earlier and even for 100 failed, but was asked if i wanted to place an order.

Good grief, if they aren't careful with all this frantic activity the Board will spill their tea.
So how long till the dilution from a placing at 7p, which of course we will be excluded from?

But rest assured, this is Ariana on cocaine (or whatever it was) and it will be a half billion pound company at the end of the decade (or whenever it was). Shame that after 20 years its £34m Market Cap and I believe that from a stat I saw the other day about half of that was equity investment. See you at 2.5p :)

Changes have to be made. I have, regretfully, decided to vote against MDVs re-election and have sent my forms to iWeb.
The penny has to drop that this is not acceptable, having given away assets in a fire sale 2 years ago, constant lying about the timing of future production, countless projects on a back burner, yet more and more fledgling projects being added, and a CEO working from home on the other side of the world who seems to have other things on his mind half the time.

I read that as a very positive update, despite the lack of the words 'is pleased' in the preamble.

Predictable market reaction (ie down) to yet more dilution of management focus while prior supposedly promising projects lie dormant.
Beginning to think our CEO is easily bored and just wants something new to play with all the time. For Gods sake this is a small company, and its getting smaller. Get some focus and make progress with existing licences then look further afield.

I can't see it either James, we are clinging to a forlorn hope. I would be astonished to and happy to retain 30%, bit will cling to that hope until the RNS

I was talking only about the immediate effect on SP if the option isn't exercised, not the longer term desirability of that happening.
Newcrest aren't going to turn down the option for the sake of harmony in the JV or because they are being nice. This is business, if they did that the Newcrest shareholders would quite rightly be p***ed of as it is their Boards job to look after their financial interests, not some third party.
Believe me I have got my piggies deeper in GGP than is in some respects wise, I hope to retain the 5%, just a bit worried about the short term if we do!

It will be an odd situation if Newcrest don't take up the option.
That implies that the agreed price (ok dictated by the arbitrator) isn't compellingly attractive, and GGP will have 30% of something that is not as undervalued by the process than we thought. Plus GGP would not be debt free and would need to find another 60 million from somewhere else. In other words in that scenario I expect a decline in GGP SP at least in the near term rather than a euphoric increase due to retaining more share in the JV asset. Just in my opinion.

I suppose the logic goes as follows:
You cant make spectacular returns from big companies
The more you spread your money, the more you get average returns. Concentration on one small promising share is the only way to make a fortune......

Good comments. Though interested in history, and fascinated by the man himself, I'm not here with blinkers on.
I know many engineers, both aeronautical and automotive, who have great respect for JCB, Cosworth and Ricardo. They are all quality, and respected, companies in their field. I don't expect this to be a get rich quick share, unless a bid was forthcoming. I like that its dividend paying. I like its involvement in green issues. It's a background share for me, and I have an average of £3.53 which includes a bit of trading. Just surprised myself that I have ended up with a few mire than I realised!

Think its time for us to get over BCN. With the threatened nationalisation of the Mexican lithium industry I suspect that the BCN SP could have been hit hard by the threat. Ganfeng may well be powerful enough to get away with it and keep the right to mine, but I suspect BCN wouldn't have - either as a company or because of the country behind that company. Will Mexico stand up to China? I doubt it would have been anything like the same answer if the question was standing up to the UK. And if the Mexican opposition to lithium miners had happened earlier then the takeover offer could well have failed at the due diligence stage. Not sure I would like that to have happened to be honest.
So the problem is ZNWD, and its lack of progress, and apparent lack of any appetite to plan any progress. This company has to be being lined up for a takeover. To be honest that is pretty much all that is keeping me here at the moment.

ps, in a manner of speaking I took SD to bed last night ....... to listen to the lse presentation. Good though it was I conked out after about 20 minutes, just as the questions started!

I think I am in much the same position as you, average in low teens. Starting to look a bit healthier.
There were clearly some very unfortunate decisions made around the time of the JV agreement, particularly the basis of the option that was only ever going to benefit one party. Too cheap and NCM exercise the option and GGP lose. Too dear and NCM don't exercise. GGP was always on a hiding to nothing. NCM wanted the JV at Havieron otherwise they would not only have plant sitting idle, in addition they would have decommissioning costs. I cant see why the option was necessary - would they really have walked away without it?
Anyway, time to put this behind us. SD has a clean sheet, and no past mistakes to hide behind. Lets hope he fulfils the confidence that we all seem to have in him.
