I had hoped that the increased publicity may have a positive effect today and in subsequent days. Sadly that doesn't appear to be the case.
I assume that the vast majority of PI shares are held in nominee accounts, rather than certificated. Can I suggest that we all contact our nominees and find out their policy. When/if a bid is made we may not have the luxury of time to sort it out.

I suspect that the board, M&G and Hanwa will be interested. I doubt GF will be interested other than a threat that they may need to pay more or abandon. Certainly don't expect an epiphany from GF, to them its business.

I will send an email, not something I would normally do but I think in this instance I think necessary.
I would like to remind holders that if they hold their shares with their broker than it is the broker who is the legal owner of the shares, while you are the beneficial owners. It is essential that you instruct your brokers how you wish to vote, and chase them if they do not inform you of the vote via a corporate action notice (if an offer is indeed made, which is not yet certain) .

I have as many filtered messages everyday at the moment as non filtered!

Do you think there are regulatory hurdles if GF chose to divest themselves of the ZNWD element of BCN? I can see the latter being problematic with the EU (isn't everything.....).

dutton you have been an LSE member since February, and now we suddenly get 2 posts stating the blindingly obvious this morning as if you are talking to a bunch of the educationally subnormal. We've had at least one other poster doing this too. The people on here are well informed, have done their research and are able to do maths. We also welcome new posters who have no agenda, genuinely want to understand the company or have something to offer (even if it the odd risqué joke or prediction of the football results). Sadly you have provided none of these.

Nomad, as you you know I largely agree with you views, sadly accepting this probable premature end of my BCN investment simply because I am being realistic. Not sure though about GF making an offer as soon as 28th May.
I have no legal training so find the 6th May RNS full of clauses and wording that I cant say I fully understand the consequences of. However I gather that the 3rd June date is in no way set in stone, based on 'This deadline can be extended with the consent of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers in accordance with Rule 2.6(c) of the Code'.
Personally I expect a protracted 'phoney war' period here with 3rd June deadline being extended, possibly for weeks if not months, but maybe I have just become a pessimist. I don't want the bid but this state of limbo is even less acceptable, the SP certainly reflects that uncertainty.

Possibly not understanding you, but in all probability if an offer is made it will be after GF have ascertained, most likely after communication with M&G, that the bid is nailed on to succeed. If that is the case the likes of you and I will have to like it or lump it - the choice will be to hang on to the death and accept the amount GF offer (67.5p or otherwise) or sell in the market at a discount prior (suffering both b/o spread and broker commission)

I agree that a new broom is necessary in the Boardroom, don't think I have ever denied that. I have a tendency to defend those against whom wild unsubstantiated allegations are made, which some posters have. It would be hard for us on this board to unseat the current Board, will take someone/ some institution with far more voting clout to seriously do that.
I am pretty resigned that I am going to come out of this maybe 50-60% ahead, very short of what I had hoped especially as the lithium demand is unfolding so strongly, so fast. But I don't let things stress me out , it shortens your life! I have mailed BCN to voice my reservations, and you have my support in any vote.

Form 8 RNS from GF. Seems to be just a regulatory thing highlighting their increased shareholding by taking up their options on the placing. Cant help feeling these guys are clever, and over the past 18 months have played a blinder. I'm not one to make wild accusations of corruption against BCNs board. I just get the feeling that they have been outwitted and out manoeuvred at every turn to the detriment of the rest of the BCN equity holders.

Anyone have any idea about the Hanwa RNS? Seems to just reiterate their current position, which was known about. I have been hoping to see them build a sizeable stake, as (to me at least ) there seems an obvious advantage for them, as consumers of Sonara Lithium, for the bid to fail. They have plenty of headroom to increase their shareholding in order to influence the result.
Also suppose GF formally announce a bid. I have seen it written here that they would then be open to increase their holding to greater than 30%. Say for sake of argument they increased to 35%. If the bid were subsequently defeated would they be allowed to continue to hold this increased holding or would they be forced to sell sufficient shares to take their holding to less than 30%?

Just a thought Mick but what deals could the BOD have negotiated with GF? I guess they could be offered new employment positions post the take over, if not then compensation for loss of office on their (presumably) fixed term contracts. Other than that I am fairly sure what they receive is strictly regulated as otherwise it would lead to corruption
