I read the RNS carefully, and while I felt I understood it reasonably well I kind of felt that I might be missing some nuances in the legalese. Well, not too long before we find out!

We are all guessing of course , but myself I don't think much will happen on or before the 3rd, rather that a delay will be announced. Maybe the first of several delays.
If a bid were to be announced (which I would prefer as I don't relish a prolonged phony war) I would expect it to be greater than 67.5p due to the amount of resistance being shown.

'if you dont want to hold it'.....not me mate, I can see upside via the bid and (eventually) upside as independent. My frustration is simply what I said - why is it where it is?!
By 20% I mean (67.5-55)/55 x 100% = 22.77%

Same here Marcus. One of my shares, Vectura, has received a bid tabled this morning. So I decided to sell half and reinvest in a dividend Stock. Vodaphone seems a reasonable choice, most brokers with a Buy opinion, good yield, SP still depressed from last years lows.

You know chaps/ chapesses, I keep coming back to the same question. What is the discount telling us?
On the one hand it shouts 'instant 20% profit'. Then it says 'the market thinks the bid will fail'.
Then again the price says that an actual bid of 67.5p will now more likely to succeed because the SP is persistently only 55p even with a potential bid in the wings - buyers at 55p will be wondering if they did the right thing and will be happy to exit with a profit. That isn't a comment on the virtues of the bid, but my attempt at the psychology of investors.
I'm just sitting on my hands but I cant help feel I should be doing something else.

Well one of my other shares appears to be in play today. And the shares are currently trading above the offer price. I know the BCN bid isn't official yet here but doesn't help resolve the discount here

I have been in Vectura (or whatever they call themselves this week) since I was in nappies and am now retired. Ok not quite that long but it feels like it. Couldn't tell you whether I am up or down, but I suspect the latter (heavily). Certainly never had a divi, just endless promises, fund raises, 'pleased' RNSs that came to nowt.
I don't have any feelings left to be honest, part of my me is relieved to see it come to an end before they shovel soil on top of me. Forgive my cynicism.

I have received an Email from BCN after Emailing last Friday.
Same old standard reply. While I don't particularly expect a bespoke reply, I do think it shows a type of contempt that the 'noted forwarded and noted' typo remains well over a week since the first time it was sent.

Just interested in opinion Bluegrass. It is quite possible that M&G playing hardball will cause the offer, when it comes, to exceed 67.5p. And if that comes, with the implication that it is acceptable to M&G and hence likely to succeed, I simply wondered what number holders were looking for. We wont accept 67.5p willingly, we would all accept £10 - so where between those 2 figures is ok with people?

Mr James, where did you hear that figure? Quite rightly we are opposing the 'proposed' figure, but it would be interesting to know what figure people would consider acceptable - not the figure that we once hoped for but one now that we have shares in a company that is 'in play', which is a different matter.

More important Mr James is why would Hanwa support this sale when it would mean that GF would then own 100% of the mine. GF is unlikely to renew their 2 year offtake agreement with Hanwa in that scenario. Does make me wonder why Hanwa aren't filling their boots now as they have plenty of headroom to increase their holding and give them additional opportunity to oppose the deal.

Daft question maybe but what is the practical difference between DRIP and dividend reinvestment through my broker? Would the SP used for DRIP be fixed on a certain date in advance, where rate at which you repurchase through a broker is at whatever price it was when they did it? Can DRIP be used for shares held in a nominee account?
Lastly what is the order of the transactions, consolidation/ dividend payment/ DRIP or dividend payment/DRIP/ consolidation?
