Never understood the ridiculous sp here....on all known 'knowns' we should be way way higher. Cannot see anything other than a stonking set of results. Swerved adding here for a resource stock so probably done the wrong thing! Been very slow these last few months but an agri- stock in Zam won't be on many pis radars. Maybe this is about to change?

Seer...Remember the sp is just a 'snapshot' in time! That may not suit a day trader but for us committed lth's it's worth remembering. I see we have started blue!....

Morning seer. Absolutely agree on the Banks, worse than the Mafia along with those 'wealth' management leeches and we know who ends up with the money! I was a bystander in the Quindell saga as I disliked the rag trader CEO and did not trust him, mind you I think the regulators were complicit in a lot of the obvious skullduggery that went on in the co ( the ************** scam) just for starters. Classic pump & dump and then shorted to near oblivion after the US note on the Co methods of reporting rev's started the rot. Well done for getting out level a pal of mine lost a pckt and he was buying 200p down! I lost a good few quid in G in at 600+ out at 224 & 140 over a 2 year period. O.....lies never again for me! Good luck with your trading, something I rarely ever do (no computer) and tbh I prefer the 'nags' and all sports betting which takes up most of my time. I note a bit of 'window dressing' has taken place at Spo board level. Good appointment of the ex GVC GFD...maybe he can impart some of the GVC gold dust here but as a NED and chair of the audit committee? I would have liked to see some US appointments for after all that's where 99% of our business will come from. Obtaining licenses in the UK can take ages but feel sure we will soon have the all clear. Wonder if Penrose is enjoying his £630k 'Brucie bonus'?

Noggers....Apologies were all learning believe me and I bght my first share in the 70's Bank crash with a £10 from my father! Actually made some money think it was Nat Provincial Bank....got the bug and made some shocking errors....for instance Poll Peck at 8.75 I was going to stick a grand in and at the last minute switched to Sads. That potentially cost me over £300k as PP flew to £36 a share! Still have nightmares over that one...However to your point, its the SxP Metals & Mining select industry sector which I followed since swerving Glencore sub 100...I like to self flagellate! At least my last buy in HOC is in plus territory (just) that's a recent first I can tell you. Let's hope for better things tom. I do hope the shortbrigade are not active here as I saw what they did over at Genel, that was a shorters license to print money if ever I saw one...of course there were other factors but £10 to low 50p at one time was certainly helped along by the short s ***!

Seer absolutely agree the fundamentals are excellent,... rising prices, rising production, rising cash flow, lower costs all things the stock market hates. Seen it before in too many other shares (to not think otherwise) that report positive nos and outlook yet the shares fall. Makes you wonder why we/I bother? As for myself I put it down to being stupid and would do better down Wimbledon Dog track (if it was open!) at least I'd be having fun doing me cash. Only 1.3M traded so far today so I think it was just the one block sale by EH as per the rns.

McEwan reported good Q1 nos so our 51% will reflect those. Resource prices are holding up well today and on a ytd basis, so would be surprising if our production nos were not excellent! I have given up trying to fathom sp's daily/weekly performance, believe me it's a zero sum game and the only predictability is the markets unpredictability. My worry is that when I forecast correctly I immediately start thinking I must be wrong and backtrack. So I guess be right for the wrong reason as well as the right! If only it was that simple and I'm excluding the Barrow boys manipulations, mates rates etc.....

Surprised we have not heard who picked up the 15% of stock recently sold ( might be all under 3% level?). EH still holds 51%. I shall def hold now on a a 2 year view hoping Gold / silver appreciates considerably from current levels... at least that's the plan.

I'm probably back in at c 257ish convoluted trading methodology I won't go into here. HOC is the only share I have day traded for many a year tbh I don't really know why as I'm usually a fundamentals guy to the exclusion of all else. Anyways around 257ish will be my last trade pre the 26/4 cracker update. Might add I'm not as committed (invested) as you here as my other flea ridden comatose dogs are costing me dear!

Gold price up 12% ytd seen as high as $1350 by year end according to Bank Intesa Sanpaolo mostly as an inflation hedge and a safe haven ahead of elections in France, Germany & UK. Whether these guys are any more reliable than brokers target prices I don't know but let's bloody hope so!

I think you have answered your own question shareminator. There seems to be little rhyme or reason to sp's or fair value these days, certainly in the short-term anyways when it's more a roll of the dice. I've jumped in-out-back in again over last 3 days....most unusual for me and last trade losing already so am keeping up my stellar performance of wrong calls!

Recent Spo announcement: sale of Pools conditional on acquirer obtaining relevant licenses.....a given surely? Let's hope the process is a lot quicker than the tortuous vat discussions.

McEwan Mining Q1 production report. Silver & Gold UP 16% & 7% respectively. Attributable production 10366 gold & 717000 silver or 19925 gold equivalent. HOC (51%) announce Q1 production on 26/4. Bght in yesterday and today for the first time as I like the fundamentals of this well managed Co. I listened to Jim Mellon at some hedge fund conference and he thought gold could reach $5000 if the euro collapsed (he reckons 2-5 years). Who knows but when QE gets pulled and rates start rising I wanna be in gold & silver.

Flip of a coin adding here or a new punt in a resource stock? Resource won out which regardless I probably would have picked to spread my risk and if markets start reacting to the inevitable let up in QE and rates rise, I want exposure to gold & silver. I don't think anyone really believes inflation is 2%+, I have heard respected economists say it's more like 5% and asset prices have been on a tear up since QE and zero interest rates this surely will come to an end. If markets are heading for a correction and house prices follow where would you want to be? No doubt I have over simplified the case but that's where I'm heading... come what may.

Barclays says Sads could take a £450m hit to revenues if the Govt limit FOBTS to £2 a spin. PP would suffer a £55m sales hit. The Associated of British Bookmakers has claimed 2500 shops could close nationally by 2020 if extreme measures were implemented. No doubt the bookies are seeking to eke out every last penny from those few lost souls who trudge down to feed the machines but the writing has been on the wall for a long time now, it's on line or die, take your choice.

Cpo prices head towards bear mrkt territory dragged lower by rising supply/weakening demand & prices of competing edible oils. A report fom a US agency said global edible oil stockpiles will increase sharply this year.Malaysian output is set at 19 tonnes up from 17.7M tonnes and forecast to reach 21mt next year. Chicago futures for soybean fell to a one year low on the news of inventories swelling to 87.4mt.
