Morning all.

Stocks in Asia opened wk 23 on a down note led by the Nikkei off 551 points at the morning close. Motors and Techs led the declines but most sectors saw concerted selling by jittery investors as news the manufacturing sector cont to contract in May and a US Appeals Court had reinstated the levies on Chinese steel & aluminium imports to 50% starting June 4.

Elsewhere in Asia HK is down 2•4% (511 points) falling the most in 2 months on disappointing property sales and the continuing US/China tariff impasse. All but 5 of the 83 members traded lower at mid'day. Indonesia & Taiwan are down 1•7% each. NZ, Malaysia & China are all closed for local holidays, only SK remains open trading 7 higher. Trade talks between the US & China were a 'bit stalled' Sec Bessent told Fox News and may now need direct talks between the leaders.

However UBS Group is optimistic about Chinese stocks citing tariff pauses to June which Trump could revoke on a whim & stimulus measures from Beijing yet to kick in to boost attractive low valuations. Also the US was over represented in the MSCI World Index with 32 % US companies, most on high p/e ratios of 32× compared to HK & Shanghai at 11× and 16× respectively.

No, never been. Closest i got was Bonhams when I went to sell some Rock memorabilia. Funny thing as i was entering Brian May was in the entrance area and as I was carrying a fully signed in silver pen a copy of a "Kind of Magic" album i showed it to him. He said it was one of the better ones the band signed!

Sold it for £200 less Bonhams rip off vat and comm charges!! Never again.

Well you never know....I don't understand all the technicalities of drone warfare and the many types of SHORAD systems to sensibly comment. Below the article you posted there are reams of comment above my comprehension level.

Another low trade volume week the shares closing (1130-1160) up 30. Nothing of interest to trouble the scorer as we await the strategic review which at this late stage will almost certainly come with the F/Y results in June.

Morning all.

In some places MSi shares hit an all-time high of 1160 yesterday some 926% up since July 1988. That won't be among the very best all-time performers but from 2009 when the shares traded at 90 and flatlined for the next 11 years many investors would have thrown in the towel. Few could have imagined what happened next.

In October 2020 you could have bought at c.112, since then the rise been spectacular, among the best over the period as the company started making profits, boosting revenues & paying dividends. The shares have soared over 935% and are expected to go higher.

Those of a nervous disposition have likely sold out or intend to fearing the up coming review might disappoint and be light on the details. I don't believe this to be the case while it may not be a "clearing of the decks" the report cannot be ambiguous. After all as part owners we expect the board to give us a full accounting.

A Federal appeals court yesterday granted Trump's request to temporarily pause a lower court ruling that struck down most of Trump's tariffs. Earlier Trump said he would seek "emergency relief" from the Supreme Court today if the tariff ruling was not quickly put on pause.

Trump officials insist they have other options for imposing tariffs if they do not prevail in the case. The court gave Trump 10 days to make the necessary changes to carry out the order which Trump railed against saying "if allowed to stand this would completely destroy Presidential Power - the President would never be the same"

Meanwhile mrkts traded positively if mutedly despite strong tech performance and good if modest earnings nos from others. Big companies like Cost Co ($1024) helped US stocks to finish the day higher.

The Dow put on 117 as 22 of the top 30 closed higher led by Boeing, Chevron & Amgen. Other key movers heading up inc Dell, Meta & Amazon. Going down GS, IBM & Salesforce. However the tech sector continues to anchor current mrkt optimism amid clear signs of consumer resilience.

Nvidia Q1 nos pleased (topping revs and earnings forecasts) though the stock came off in late trade to $138. CEO Jason Huang plans to sell $800m of Nvidia stock through planned transactions this year. Other insiders are also selling.

Agreed FK but I'll take 250 to get out of this turd. One of my few bummers of late.

If you mean 'mopped up' ie for cancellation then your right. I'm not entirely convinced ths sp increase is down to buybacks, some of it for sure but i think the stock has been mispriced for sometime and the mrkts are adjusting the shares to reflect more buyers being attracted to the company following some good news coverage in the Torygraph.

I've seen some forecasts as high as 2500 by year end which might be a stretch. Currently forecasts for June/July are ballpark 1830-2185 and 2185-2510.

Either way the stock has momentum behind it which bodes well for the Summer holidays etc.....

Despite negative cues from Wall St overnight where all the major indexes fell and Nvidia's Q1 nos came after the closing bell, Asian mrkts awoke to the news that a Federal court had blocked Trump's attempt to impose sweeping reciprocal tariffs against its global trading partners under emergency powers, saying he exceeded his authority.

Stocks across Asia about turned led by the Nikkei 225 up 645 points. The rest of Far Eastern and Pacifica are all trading higher on the news, noting Dow and Ftse futures are calling NY & London much higher today.

The three judge panel at the Court of International Trade ruled after multiple lawsuits claimed Trump exceeded his authority and destabilised trade policy. The court declared the tariffs "unlawful to all" not just the five US businesses that filed the lawsuit and ordered the tariffs to be vacated and permanently blocked.

Democratic led US States argued Trump illegally invoked an emergency law to justify his reciprocal tariffs. That brings into question our trade deal with the US which will be stayed pending Trump's appeal.

Disappointing to see so few sellers atm. The MM's are not encouraging weak holders to take profits (assuming they have any?)

I'd think there are a lot of stale bulls waiting for 1500.

That's too far up the totem poll to even think about imo.

Day traders are ready to dump if the F/Y don't come up to scratch and leave holders wondering what the hell was all that about? My gut feeling is the nos will disappoint with a carrot of much better nos in H1'26. That won't cut the mustard with day traders and I can see the sp slumping 200p as they run for the exits if the company have no definite future plan.

Should this occur the stock will be moribund in the 1000-1300 range, below previous estimates and with little prospect of seeing 1500 in 2026. No doubt the company will have plausible

reasons but by then no-one will be listening.

The company must not give the market any excuse to tank the shares! Afternoon all.

If at the start of the year you were offered a 25% increase in the sp I'm sure most of us would have accepted without a second thought. Yet here we are at the half way stage with 24% in the kitty.

While no guarantee the mrkt will continue to push the stock higher the omens look

pretty good for a solid set of nos given no surprises in the way revenues are apportioned. A boost to 30p (7&23) in the full year div pay out wont go amiss (I'm an optimist) and reduce the cash % held in the bank which at the H/Y amounted to £32m (19p) per share.

MSi are not noted for dividend generosity preferring a conservative outlook. The split between dividends and sp appreciation has always divided investor views. Keeping both parties happy is hard to achieve.

I think the company on balance manages this well, after all a small profitable Aim Co with zero debt and paying dividends is a rarity and should attract wider share ownership. Perhaps this conundrum will be addressed at the annual statement? Usually a board member is responsible to boost the company stock. Some'do some'dont.

Thinking outside the box should the company return to the private sector how much would you accept for your shares? Of course you may not wish to sell preferring to take your chance as a private investor with no certainty of value or dividends, except (you would be bought out on the cheap). with no say thereafter. It surprises me that many Aim companies are considering going private. I was offered the chance years ago, thankfully I declined. Better stay with the devil you know!

The Dow jumped 246 at the opening bell after Trump dialled back his threat of tariffs on EU imports. Defusing trade tensions between the US & EU was welcomed by mrkts. The EU agreed to fast-track trade talks after Trump spoke with Ursula von der leyen.

A better than expected consumer confidence report in May up 14%, is also boosting optimism on the street as tariffs & inflation concerns remain key drivers for equities. Investors have a cluster of 500 S&P companies left to report earnings nos including Q1 nos from Nvidia today which are forecast to be at record levels as demand for its Blackwell chips exceed forecasts. All 11 sectors of the S&P500 advanced with airlines and megacap techs clear out performers.

Business was brisk on the Dow as it roared ahead after lunch boosted by strong gains in 'Mag 7 stocks.' Only 4 stocks were in the red the gainers led by GS, WD, CAT & Amex. At the close all major indexes showed solid gains with only UH & Boeing posting falls on the big board.

In other mrkt news Gold futures fell more than 2% & bitcoin traded near record highs of $110,000 on news Trump's media company plans to raise about $2•5bn from US institutions to buy bitcoin the latest entanglement of his private business ventures and the crypto mrkts. Around 50 investors will put in $1•5bn and another $1•0bn for convertible senior notes for a bitcoin Treasury reserve. Trump Media stock fell 10% to $23:05.
