There are undoubtedly games being played here but the main reason for falls is that people sell out to put money into the next golden goose. There have been some spectacular rises in other shares this week and undoubtedly some of that will have come out of bmn.

There is also the once bitten, twice shy mentality. People will be much less willing to hold when the price is falling after the months of down days from the highs of last December.

I for one am happy, contented and buying more as funds allow.

I’ve been thinking about this today and the reasons for it. Obviously JSE listing has already been mentioned.

Could getting the company ready for a takeover be another? I know that many here would want extremely good value for their shareholdings given the potential earnings in years to come.

If I was a company or sovereign fund looking to go big on renewables then a straight takeover of a company like Bushveld must be the quickest and cheapest way to get a large foothold.

Another reason for Bushveld to keep cash is so that they still have plenty of funds in the bank following spend on East London, Vanchem and Mokopane. This will be extremely important for the Eskom tender to show that the company is in good financial health and there is no chance of them going under if they win the contract or part of it.

I for one am happy with a lower V price as it allows for the introduction of VRFB which will be the real money spinner over the next few years. It is very much a case of a little bit of short term pain for considerable long term gain.

I have taken another 19,000 today. Despite being in here very deep I continue to add at every opportunity.

I don’t care if this remains severely under valued for the next year or two, it gives me the opportunity to carry on adding at these ridiculous prices. I don’t see these prices continuing past JSE listing, Eskom contract, Mokopane development and Vanchem purchase and refurbishment.

I’m currently in SA and have managed to catch an audio recording of the interview. I will try an post later. Unfortunately the interview finished before FM really got going. Headline is that he expects V prices back up around $50 kilo.

Does anyone else think it strange that the new CFO wasn’t announced today in this morning’s RNS? The reason I believe they they wanted to do this separately is that they know the appointment is likely to have an impact. Maybe not on SP directly but I think FM knows that the appointment will make people in the financial world sit up and take notice.
