Disappointing, like the food in my local Marstons. Rather than focusing on expansion in a shrinking market, why dont they focus on delivering quality beer, quality food and quality service.

Just returned from my local Marstons, the Talardy Hotel. Ordered 3 mains, 2 were left uneaten and the 3rd was a soggy pie which I ate myself. We complained and got refunds on 2 meals. Beer I had was nice.

Very disappointed. This is probably my 4th annual visit to this place, which is a splendid old Victorian house. The food has been poor or awful on every visit. I'm not expecting gourmet food from a place like this, but I expect decent cooked food, not microwaved rubbish.

Won't be returning anytime soon. Shame, because the menu was quite good.
How many more Marston pubs are run badly like this?

Yes update could have been better but overall I see this as a sound and proven business model, and Marstons do brew a decent range of beer IMO.
Great dividend so I've bought a few more to get my average down.

I think someone like Capita would be interested in buying Idox. Very good fit with their public sector IT offering.

I don't see why VAL should give Align any confidential information, in fact it is probably against the rules, for what they are worth. Anything of interest to shareholders should be shared in a RNS.

Bottles at Sainsbury about �1.75. At Aldi �1.29. Very nice, you heard it here first! Ditto Wainwright beer, brewed by Thwaites who are owned by Marstons. Both are light golden ales, a good alternative to boring lager imo.

Exactly my thinking. Good weather is forecast for the wedding, my local Marstons Inn/restaurant/hotel is busy most nights. The Inn is attracting business people who use the restaurant, good strategy.

I don't see justification for a 12% drop in SP based on the interim results, so I bought a few more at these low prices.

I've increased my holding today, I like the dividend in the current uncertain market conditions, and I like the beer they sell. :) There's a Marstons pub/restaurant in our town and it was heaving the other night.

Personally I don't see the Capita share price doing much in the short term. Current market for Capita appears to be tough and it will take the new management some time to implement changes. The SP could rise in a year or so if they can sort themselves out, but with no dividend and poor short term prospects, it's more if a punt for the long term, IMO.
