Commiserations CSDI, I'm sure most of us have been down badly at some time. I'm currently sitting on big losses on Costain and Capita, but Shell has been good for me, currently at 998 average.
UK share have suffered badly, but have the potential to bounce back after the Brexit deal is finally done and confidence is restored after the virus is defeated. Conversely, many would argue that US and China markets are too high.
My best advice is to sit tight unless you have a better option to put your money into.....say if the US markets take a big correction.
I also bought in first at about £12, after the big drop in March. I averaged down few times and bought in as low as 900 recently. Now averaging £10 so about 10% up after today. Intend holding long term as I'm sure it has more to gain, plus the dividend is worth having

Must say I'm surprised at this recovery, although very happy to be almost at break even and with a reasonable dividend shortly.
I intend to hold long term because I think the SP will recover to 1500+ next year, and to be honest can't think of a safer place for my cash while it earns about 5% pa dividend.
I topped up today, looking to hold long term, will be happy if they maintain the dividend.
I sold my holding this week at 4865 to make a small profit, after being in loss since the SP fell sharply in February. Will look to get back in if it drops a few %, which I think all shares will do when the reality of the economic mess sinks in with people.
Welsh Government usually have very onerous and one sided contract terms. Not the first time Costain has had its fingers burned by the Welsh Dragon.
It's strange to see so many UK construction firms floundering when we are supposed to be on the verge of a UK construction boom.
Is Apple part of an enormous Tech bubble just waiting to pop? I don't know, but I suspect money has been pouring into Apple as it is seen as being a safe haven and has done well since the Covid19 crisis.

Why would 2019 results be affected by Covid19? It wasn't a major concern in UK or US until early 2020.
