Buy-Sell, had a similar experience many years ago. However subsequently I spent 5 years living in Cardiff where I have a number of Welsh speaking friends. It often happened that we would be out cycling and go into a pub where locals would assume we were all English. They would then be speaking in Welsh, sometimes about us, to then be caught out when my pals would respond in Welsh. It would all end with laughter and good hearted banter. I love Wales and have many happy memories. JJ

What a mess. Sanctions having the opposite effect to what was intended. We in the West have become beholden to Putin, and he is now getting paid far more, and knows he is now the puppeteer. And look at China, they are now bolstered by the ineffectual actions of the West. When China take a similar route to Putin what will the West do? Clearly sanctions are not going to work. All the ingredients are there for a 3rd World War. I bet the likes of Iran are loving what is happening.

asimpleinvestor, wise words. I have 4 AIM investments and 10 FT100 stocks, split 90/10 in favour of the latter investments. I can accept the risk. I first invested in the stock market in 1975. The ability to research AIM stocks is limited which is one of the reasons why investors get caught out. Good luck with your investments, we always need some luck in life. JJ

28p; fortunately it was a modest investment that I can afford to lose. I did read a book which stressed to avoid the AIM market, and still I chucked my money in. Even at age 71 I manage to make silly mistakes. JJ
