A minute ago I looked on here at TSCO and NXT both slightly down whilst MKS shown as slightly up, perspective. If you bought recently you might be bitter because MKS not following the general trend up but this a retail business in the run up to Christmas with the media highlighting the negatives. The January update is what matters and that is three weeks away. Waiting until then to buy MKS could be a shrewd move if the price drops below £3 although if as some of us believe it bounces to closer to £4 then you might be a trifle grumpy. Your decision, I've made mine. JJ

DarkAnge so you spent £130,000 buying MKS and the share is down 6% or so, there is nothing shocking about that. You could have staggered your investment, no one told you to invest, maybe you can see this as part of your investment education. All the best and you may see a bounce from this point and make a profit in the next few weeks. We all need to heed DYOR. Good luck and I bought more at around £3.35 and very happy with that buy. JJ

DC may I ask you to expand on your reasons for holding MNG. I am a holder having bought at £2.35 around the time of the 'split' with the Prudential and whilst the income has been good the growth in the share price has for me only materialised in 2025. In terms of growth in share price the banks and retail have done more. I do look at LGEN but am not a holder, anyway its not done particularly well this year. Your thoughts would be very welcome but will understand if you come back with DYOR. All the best JJ

Wilco "Putin isn't going to stop" I agree totally with you there; hence if Z agrees to all of the Russian demands then you will still see the war resume in a matter of days/weeks. Putin knows that no one is going to stop him. The USA could but Trump is only out for himself and his family so couldn't care less about the war except he would like the Nobel Peace Prize. Its a mess. JJ

Fender, a bit of friendly advice. Please pause and take a break from posting maybe for a few weeks and simply notice how others engage with this bb. You have strong views and are entitled to them but expressing them in an aggressive manner detracts from what you want to express. You could be right and the share may well have further to drop, so wait for your moment to take your moment of glory at the year end. By taking a break you could gain from viewpoints that you might not have otherwise considered. I am trying to help as IMO these bb's should be about 'shares' and not personalities. JJ

HappyDonkey I've been wondering along the same lines. This is one of few silly investments I made a few years back and have accepted my particular investment is almost worthless so will let it run. If it ever deliveries a few quid it will be a pleasant surprise. I have a few duds but otherwise my serious investments are doing well. Good luck. JJ

Fender bit more info for you, it was only a fortnight ago when you suggested buying NWG @ £5.78 whereas today its £6.40 i.e. up 10.7% and you were saying it would be up 5% by Christmas, no doubt you are kicking yourself for not following your own advice. This investing game can be a lot of fun.

Fender I am not "having a pop at you". You are setting yourself up......My view is that you should always have monies available to invest if a good prospect arises. Hence IMO you should have invested in LLOY & NWG because you were telling others to invest but ignored your own advice. Didn't you set yourself up by admitting you didn't invest. Delboy might say "you plonker Rodney".

Fender time will tell. To focus on just one share is a mistake, you asked about bank shares but you chose not to take on board my experience. Both LLOY & NWG have hit 52 week highs today. I suspect that like me MKS dropping to below say 300 is not an issue for many investors, provided one is confident that they will be trading at 450 or more in 2026. There has been a lot of hot air about the budget but the typical M&S customer is feeling quite flush right now. MKS is a strong buy IMHO. JJ
