Forest I went to my nearest M&S yesterday, food hall doing a good trade but was shocked at the stuff on offer in the Men's dept. it was well stocked but very little buying going on, choice on offer was dull, not everyone wants to have such depressing colours in their 'whole' wardrobe. Not a case of sold out of stuff.

It made me a bit gloomy about my M&S shares to be honest. Have a good one. JJ

Percy @ 10.50 you have it as strong buy and @ 13.49 strong sell, have you been overindulging? Me I still see MKS as a buy provided you can accept a bumpy road until some time in the New Year. Looking doubtful for £4 by mid-January but you never know what Santa might bring. JJ

BOE rate drop today and wondering what impact this might have for MNG? It makes our div more attractive. JJ

People do forget that the purpose of the bb is to discuss the Company in this instance VAST and it should never be about the poster and whether you like them or not. If a comment raises your temper its always better to walk away, ignore and move on. No one wants to get caught up in the nonsense.

Dorfan I continue to receive the Winter Fuel payment and have never been on benefits. As a retired financial planner I suggest there are better ways of providing income from your pension fund than buying an annuity. Get advice. Plan ahead, I did and have been a pensioner since my 50th birthday and will be 75 in January. All my pensioner friends are enjoying their lives despite health challenges, mine prostate cancer. Jds15 it is not daft to suggest the MKS share could drop to £2.70 IMHO and it wasn't me predicting it. All that is needed is for some very poor trading figures to come out for M&S or a wider market mini crash. To talk of assets and market cap is not wholly relevant, its market sentiment that may well decide what happens. The underlying figures can provide comfort but if the 'shorts' have a strategy to undermine the share price of a company you had better look out. At the moment the 'shorts' are IMO hedging. Some on here may have thought that the share would not drop by 20% from £4.1 to £3.30; so who can say it won't drop 20% again from £3.30 to under £2.70. Food for thought and discussion. JJ

EUA has been a salutary lesson. My original investment is showing a 100% gain but I bought more increasing my average to 14p, if it ever gets to the latter figure I shall be pleased to put an end to the sorry saga. The cash will go to grandkids for their Uni funds, one of them will be going in Sept. '26 so I'm almost at the stage of sending Putin a Happy New Year card with a "peace to all men" message. Its the moment for Trump to earn his Nobel. JJ

Angeleyee please remember we can easily look back at your posts. Its significant that you said you were 80% in cash since when the market has risen and in particular NWG which you had considered increasing your holding of; NWG gone up 80p or more since September. Generally December is a good time of the year to pick up stock market bargains and generally bank shares rise toward their FYR in February. I'm of the view that MKS offers a very good prospect in their run up to a trading update in January. Of course you could be right and the share just might be heading for £2.60 whereas I expect it to be nearer to £4 in the course of the next 4 trading weeks. Good luck, JJ

Can I suggest if you don't know what to buy for someone this Christmas then 1000 MKS shares would be a nice gift as I need this to get moving faster toward £4, not being selfish of course. JJ

From what I read the shares in the buyback could be held in treasury and not cancelled and then used for 'share-save' which seems to make a lot of sense. It could be subsequently ratified at next AGM.

Perhaps I'm being too simplistic but surely the bod are given a measure of flexibility on such important matters. JJ

Jds15 the point is the broker view of TSCO/NXT is less bullish i.e. hold whereas for MKS its a buy giving further support to your recent investment. The next 3/4 weeks could prove very interesting for stock markets and all the more so for MKS. JJ

B@xter 'was just about to post on the same lines; at current price this is low risk with the potential of high reward and deserves a place in a well thought out portfolio. Recently bought more and expecting to see a good short term outcome whereas normally 'favour a long term view. This is my New Year present to self. Compliments of the season to you. JJ

FTSE down 0.56% today whilst MKS down 0.41%. If you want to argue in favour of holding cash then I can understand whereas I want to be in the market with a well spread portfolio. All the best JJ
